1. I find myself drawn toward black or white basses as a rule... though I do like a nice dark purple, midnight blue or deep red... Orange, yellow and baby blue are no-no's... though I'm strangely drawn to forest greens Sunbursts are a bit 'vanilla' for me.... and 'natural' I find dull unless it's spalted, highly figured etc...
2. It's been listed four or five times over the last year by different 'sellers' but using the same pics. Scam/bogus auction I'm afraid... steer clear!
3. Bumping for the last of this year's gigs! December 3rd Cardiff - 'The Globe' 4th Norwich - 'Brickmakers' Sadly, these will be the last gigs with our current drummer so should be quite a 'farewell' party !
4.
That Washburn's a real catch Looks a bit like the Bantam model, which was designed by Grover Jackson and Kip Winger.
Yep, I'm guessing that's the origin of this design.... No real difference in this sig model other than the EMG's methinks...
5. A wonderful day spent in the company of many rather splendid chaps (& Sarah & Soph!) It was great to catch up with some old friends and to finally put faces to names and chat all things bass - while having a good laugh and learning lots... Thanks to all who organised the event and did the worshops etc. 'Stars' the lot of you.... Luckily I didn't come away with any major GAS, though Nige's amazing homebuild bass and Robocorpse's Ricky and EMG loaded Thunderbird were particularly nice... as were OBBM's Phil Jones combo and Charic's TC Electronics rig...! And finally, wonderful news about the money raised. A fitting tribute to Si (OldGit).... Here's to next year!
6. Won't be bringing my Wal now as there will be at least one other present. So, I'll be bringing my Spector Euro4LX & Peavey Rudy Sarzo and maybe an original Fender Jazz Bass Special &/or my own 70's Jazz build... I'll also have my Sansamp RBI/RPM rig and 1 or 2 GenzBenz Neox212T cabs. See you there!
7. Lol!! Thanks Chrs! My folks said what a 'pleasant young man' you were They were used to various 'rigs of doom' and multiple basses coming and going when I used to live at home, I think this was a nice reminder for them of days gone by! lol!
8. You were given one.... Martin at The Bass Gallery...
9. Welcome back Zoe! I've known you're still around due to our Facebook link... good to see you on here though!

14.
I should be at the Cardiff gig - really enjoyed the one last year. Have you got the pole dancers supporting you again?
Excellent! Come up & say 'Hi!' after Re: the Pole Dancers...Sadly for the audience this time, no.... but I'm trying to organise a 'private backstage' performance
15.
I like to come back to this thread to, well, window shop!
You're welcome! lol!
16. Great bassline, beautiful lady
17. Richard Jones - The Feeling. Melodic and thoughtful basslines...
18. Well done that man!
19. It's been a great year for us. Attendances up, 'money' up and support from fans/venues/Promoters is better than ever Being polite, friendly and proactive with the above has kept our great reputation intact and enabled us to reach a larger audience. The excellent recent KISS tour helped as well... and better targeting of advertising through social networks, mailing list etc etc has also paid dividends.
20. Bumping for the last of this year's gigs! November 19th Witney 'Fat Lils' 20th Swindon 'The Furnace' (different set list to Witney as venues are reasonably close) December 3rd Cardiff - 'The Globe' 4th Norwich - 'Brickmakers'
21.
Oh, how I envy Doddy still being on your 'ignore'.
22. Sometimes something comes along which really surprises you.... I've recently benefitted from an amazing stupidly low-priced deal on the following bass. We're talking pocket money here chaps....! It's a Jap-made Washburn 'Pat Badger' signature bass, fully loaded with active EMGs (non-standard on Washburns). From what I can discern, there were probably only 5 or 6 of these ever made of which Pat has 2 or 3...! This particular bass came via the Washburn USA showroom and it appears to be a demo model of a signature bass line that never went fully into production. A very nice collector-piece and a great sounding bass to boot! Here are the sellers photos (haven't taken my own yet...):
