1. I've decided to streamline/change-up my collection slightly so I'm moving on some basses. You've probably seen my beautiful Pedulla fretless in another sale thread.... So what do we have here then? Well, it's a superb early 90's Japanese made Jackson 'Kip Winger' signature 'Futura' bass with active Jackson pickups/circuitry. The bass is thru-neck with a 21 fret rosewood fingerboard and black heavy duty bridge/hardware. The bass is relatively lightweight with a streamlined 'Super-Jazz' body and a very comfortable neck. Tones are full and present and range from deep bass to a hi-fi zing. Indeed, the guy who owned this before me played it in a blues covers band... and I've used it both in a versatile function band scenario and a full-on heavy rock band. The white colour is bold and lightly sparkly but yellowing slightly around the bass of the fretboard & lower cutaway area. There are the usual light player-knocks on the headstock & a couple on the body edges but nothing major or worthy of mention. These Japanese Jacksons are highly regarded for their build quality and attention to detail and are, in the opinion of many Jackson afficionados, the last of the truly great Jacksons... As such, these basses are getting much harder to find and, with the resurgence of classic rock starting to become quite sought after. Not many were made in this colour either.... Anyway, with all that out of the way..... the price... I'm looking for SOLD. I will post internationally for additional courier costs. I will accept payment in the form of a direct bank transfer or cheque (subject to clearance). No Paypal please. NO trades. and here it is, pictured with its brothers :
2.
LOL, I'm glad you did sell 'cos my one is your old one!
Ah! That explains it then! lol!
Our singer suggested I cut it in half, which, given its construction, really isn't all that bad an idea. Any thoughts?
Aaaah!!! Don't do that! Sell it back to me rather than doing anything that drastic!
3. PM'd re: price...
4. Richard Jones of 'The Feeling' regularly uses a B-301 live and always has a great tone....
5. Sorry mate... nothing is gonna sound like your 1516. Awesome cab.... shouldn't have sold mine really. Still got my Mesa 2x15 though
6.
Most certainly will if I get a sale or two
I may be open to a cash/trade split with your Genz Neo212 + cash if that helps...?
7. I have a Model T and it's great. Lovely tones and very playable... I too am interested in trying a Diamond P Custom... and I especially like the blue one!
8. I'm pleading the 'fifth' & leaving it at that! lol!
9.
Apart from the pick-up "placement" the ESP's look great.
Nige....Surely that's what makes them 'great'.... otherwise they would just be dull PJ basses?!
10.
BTW,you have too many Euro Spectors and I would suggest you give one to me,especially as I don't have one
I may have ONE you could BUY off me
11. Love the Ovation and the Guild! Great stuff!
12. A couple more recent arrivals..... Inspired by the quality of the all-blue ESP 'The Surveyor' featured earlier in this thread I've just imported a couple of rare mid 80's ESP 'Masayoshi Yamashita' basses from Japan.... (the 2nd one is active and EMG-loaded!): Just need to find 5 mins now to put them through their paces & see what the multi-P pickup configuration is capable of!
13. I like Thunderbirds but I much prefer versions by other makes (i.e. Spectorbird, Mike Lull, etc). The Gibson ones I just found to be unwields one-trick ponies. Sorry!
14.
Looks like my kinda bass
Then PM me and lets talk
15. VERY nice, Clarky!
16.
Colin played on an album I have by Neal Schon and Jan Hammer. Great bassline on a track called 'wastin time' - but I doubt that anyone here has even heard it!
Oh ye of little faith.... I have it
17. Have a free BUMP for a superb piece of kit!
18. VERY nice! You don't see many of those around so that's quite a find!

Bass Porn

Works for me.... As a fan of 'erotic photography' and 'beautiful basses' this would be a great match
20. I've never had a problem with it either
21. I have the RPM and an RBI - both fantastic pre-amps.... and you really do ONLY need a good PA power amp and you're sorted!
22. Well, here's the info - straight from their wonderful Artist Relations man PJ.... weird they didn't realise this.... and it puts a WHOLE new slant on the Tonepump! "Hello again - thanks for sending me the link. After reviewing all of this, of course the person who designed our TonePump circuit is accurate...so...I need to work with our new web designer and include the proper TonePump / TonePump Jr. info! Sounds like we misinterpreted his info almost 10 years ago while working on this with him. Thanks again, PJ Also please send my regards to everybody at Bass Chat UK!!! "
23.
Quick question. What are the differently shaped Les Paul guitars. A Dean perhaps?
The white one is a new Washburn Preacher 'Paul Stanley' model.....and the sunburst one is an earlier Silvertone version of the same Paul Stanley design (one of only a limited number that made it off the production line before he shifed his endorsement to Washburn....)
24. Hmmm....Interesting stuff. I've asked Spector for clarification & will post their reply as soon as I hear back...
25. Great band! Looking forward to seeing them at the High Voltage Festival in a few weeks time!
