Here's How:

Move along side wall of venue until level with the front of the stage. Turn through 90 degrees
Raise your hand and wave, as if to someone across the room
Proceed smartly across the front of the stage, continuing to wave.
Keep your head pointed forwards at all times while swivelling your eyes to track the gear. Moving your head is the mark of the hobbyist.
If someone on stage notices you, ignore them. If challenged, produce a card bearing the following words:
"I cannot speak. Barbary pirates cut out my tongue. Can I have a go on your bass, mate?"
I nominate this post for the 'BASSCHAT POST OF THE YEAR' Award!!
Is this still here? cant believe its not gone!!! i used to lust after the kramer and jackson basses as a kid, and always thought id like one for playing rawk!!!! on if it were red id be nicking money out of my daughters college fund, great looking bass!! just not sure about the purple!!! Ps any pics of you "kip wingers" and your gene simmons basses
Tell me about it.... it's amazing this bass is still available. A high quality, thru neck active for a bargain price.... The purple is actually darker than in the pics and looks very classy. Don't worry there's nothing mauve/pink about it in ANY way! I'll post Winger/Simmons bass pics in Bass Porn when I get a spare minute... -
Superb bass! Carvin make quality instruments and are much underrated and not very easy to find.... Congrats
Didn't realise they were EMG-HZ's. Thought they were EMG 35s as standard. Agreed, the upgrade to EMG pickups and BTS would make it sound even more fabulous. How does it balance? Sonically, how do they compare to the Euros? Those questions outstanding, you've probably already convinced me. Think I'm gonna have a look around for one, strap it round my knees and get rocking! lol T
Sonically, see my previous reply... Balance-wise they're fine! No 'major' neckdive like on a Thunderbird. There's a gorgeous 5'er for sale in the forum classifieds here. Otherwise, you should be able to find a 4 relatively easily...

Beautiful Euro Tony! The Rex I have is just as playable as the Euro but actually has a slightly slimmer, more comfortable neck. Soundwise it comes fitted with EMG-Hz pickups which are tight, crisp & punchy but could benefit from upgrade to full EMGs & maybe even the BTS circuit for a fuller, more ballsier tone...
Very sad story. Will definitely make me think twice when i go into a pub to play in future. It does make you wonder what kind of idiot you have to be to think pyrotechnics indoors is a good idea... The gerb pyrotechnic things fire 15 feet of sparks for 15 seconds, even if there hadn't been dodgy sound insulation that must have been an obvious bad idea from the start to anyone with some common sense...
As someone in a band that uses & has used professional indoor pyrotechnics safely and effectively for 20 years I don't consider myself an idiot, thanks.... You might try NOT to generalise in future.... 'The Station' venue in this piece was of wood build, with non-fireproofed insulation foam hanging out of the wall in various places all over the club. It was a death trap before this show took place. Should there have been pyrotechnics used here? Of course NOT..... but then a stray cigarette could have caused a similar fire at any point.... Like most hazardous products - Pyrotechnics are as safe as the people using them, the type/size of effect used (& it's suitability for the venue).... and the condition of the venue itself. We use mini gerbs (7 seconds of waterfall sparks which fall out cold and go to 8 ft height), silver jets (instantaneous jets of sparks - again to approx 8ft which fall out cold), Theatrical Flashes (puff of smoke with bang) and small flames (6ft high jet of flame). We only use them in suitable venues and are very careful with our positioning/use of effects..... -
and one more.... Lastly a US Stuart Spector Design NS4 from the crossover period when Stuart was still trying to get his 'name' back....
-
Oh go on then.... Here's a pic from a couple of years back of my complete collection.... there have been some new additions which I haven't taken pics of yet. A couple of these have also moved on to fellow Basschat members... the natural Euro & the Zebrano Euro... To break them down a little.... These are original 80's US Spector NS2's... the black & white are Kramer made and sunburst is pre-Kramer. All have HazLab preamps... These are Euros & Euro LX's (aplogies for the over-exposure of the colours in this pic...) The blue, white & plum ones are original solid maple Euros. The white JJ pickup is a NS2J ltd reissue and the wood/zebrano ones are Euro LX's... My 'holflash' Spectors. The one on the left is a full custom order US Black/Blue Holoflash with amazing abalone inlays... a beauty! Holoflash doesn't show well in this pic though. The one on the right is a Rex-4 model in standard holoflash. My beautiful Poplar Burl Euro LX.... stunning! My Asian-made Kramer Spector NS2A basses from the late 80's...... great basses! This is my oldest Spector and one of the first ever made. Made in approx 1976/77 this is an original SB1 with Dimarzio pickup. Some Spectors I don't have anymore... First up is an original early Euro NS2J reissue Next up is my only foray into 5 string. A stunning Euro5 which I loved but as I'm 99% a 4string player just wasn't being used enough to justify me having it... A gorgeous Spector ReBop I sold a few weeks back to fund something else. I WILL get this back someday...
how do you currently have the action set at the 12th? Pretty tempted by this
I can't get to it to measure it over the next few days......but take it as read that it is low enough to be very playable without fretbuzz.... I'm getting some other interest in this offline so if anyone's tempted it may not be here much longer at this price.... -

Not sure if anything about this has been posted before. Apologies if I'm late/out of touch. Guitar Nation 2010 Great seminars, clinics etc..... Guy Pratt, Pino Palladino, Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, Simon Phillips etc.....and the Saturday concert (judging by these names) could really be something! Shame about the ticket price though! Crikey!
