1. I'm pleading the 'fifth' & leaving it at that! lol!
2.
Apart from the pick-up "placement" the ESP's look great.
Nige....Surely that's what makes them 'great'.... otherwise they would just be dull PJ basses?!
3.
BTW,you have too many Euro Spectors and I would suggest you give one to me,especially as I don't have one
I may have ONE you could BUY off me
4. Love the Ovation and the Guild! Great stuff!
5. A couple more recent arrivals..... Inspired by the quality of the all-blue ESP 'The Surveyor' featured earlier in this thread I've just imported a couple of rare mid 80's ESP 'Masayoshi Yamashita' basses from Japan.... (the 2nd one is active and EMG-loaded!): Just need to find 5 mins now to put them through their paces & see what the multi-P pickup configuration is capable of!
6. I like Thunderbirds but I much prefer versions by other makes (i.e. Spectorbird, Mike Lull, etc). The Gibson ones I just found to be unwields one-trick ponies. Sorry!
7.
Looks like my kinda bass
Then PM me and lets talk
8. VERY nice, Clarky!
9.
Colin played on an album I have by Neal Schon and Jan Hammer. Great bassline on a track called 'wastin time' - but I doubt that anyone here has even heard it!
Oh ye of little faith.... I have it
10. Have a free BUMP for a superb piece of kit!
11. VERY nice! You don't see many of those around so that's quite a find!

Bass Porn

Works for me.... As a fan of 'erotic photography' and 'beautiful basses' this would be a great match
13. I've never had a problem with it either
14. I have the RPM and an RBI - both fantastic pre-amps.... and you really do ONLY need a good PA power amp and you're sorted!
15. Well, here's the info - straight from their wonderful Artist Relations man PJ.... weird they didn't realise this.... and it puts a WHOLE new slant on the Tonepump! "Hello again - thanks for sending me the link. After reviewing all of this, of course the person who designed our TonePump circuit is accurate...so...I need to work with our new web designer and include the proper TonePump / TonePump Jr. info! Sounds like we misinterpreted his info almost 10 years ago while working on this with him. Thanks again, PJ Also please send my regards to everybody at Bass Chat UK!!! "
16.
Quick question. What are the differently shaped Les Paul guitars. A Dean perhaps?
The white one is a new Washburn Preacher 'Paul Stanley' model.....and the sunburst one is an earlier Silvertone version of the same Paul Stanley design (one of only a limited number that made it off the production line before he shifed his endorsement to Washburn....)
17. Hmmm....Interesting stuff. I've asked Spector for clarification & will post their reply as soon as I hear back...
18. Great band! Looking forward to seeing them at the High Voltage Festival in a few weeks time!
19.
Players like Nathan Watts have been in the game long enough to realise that although good gear matters, it's whatever needs the least maintenance on the road and what sounds adequate to get along with! People with his level of credibility don't need to deal with guys on online forums claiming to be experts on drivers, whereas given half the chance all those 'speaker experts' would probably jump at the chance to be Stevie Wonder's bass player and MD.
+2
20.
yhp its the bossa, havnt seen the alleva in ages which is a shame because its gorgeous! Dont know what the fretless he has was though :S
I believe the fretless was a Japanese-made 'Crews Maniac'....
21.
What would you ask for it? I bought it from a chap on here, YouMa (Mark) and it is exactly the same condition. Should we say £650
As you paid only £560 for it, maybe that or less would be the right price to ask?
22.
Ah right oh. Rhere's a fretless that shape that turns up at jam sessions round here. I'll have a closer look next time and see if its a Spector..
If it is... try & get a picture - would love to see it
23.
Wow! What's the big bum one of the far right of that picture?
A very early (1976/77) Spector SB1 bass. One of the first Spectors ever made
24. Nice pics bluesparky! Sorry, haven't read this thread since I last posted so didn't see that you'd be there on the main stage. I was working Artist Liaison for PRS - would have said "Hi!" if I'd known....
25.
I loved it,despite the odd 'moment'. Nate appeared to be using a couple of Hartke LH amps, with Hartke Hydrive 1x15 and 4x10 cabs. He played keys on a few including Superstition (which had Stevie on keys on the original.)
This is correct... I had stage access at Hyde Park and the above is what he was running. His tone was clear and full and could easily be heard
