1. Awww man..... can't believe you're getting rid of this beauty. I'd love it... but I, quite obviously, don't NEED it.... People, this is a bargain..... and a beauty of a bass. You won't get a new one for much under £1000 now so don't let this bargain get away!
2. Recently bought (and enjoying): The Babys - Union Jacks Malice- License To Kill Dan Fogelberg - The Definitive H.E.A.T. - s/t Madura - s/t & II Peter Friestedt - LA Project Vol2
3. Thanks Dan! Looking forward to receiving & installing it
4.
I took these out of my basses today and wired the volumes straight to the jack. I never used the preamps, always left my basses flat and used the amp/desk EQ, and since buying my 400+ I'm deciding that the purer the signal path, the better I sound. So these are up for cheap. The tonepump is a boost-only bass + treble circuit with a voltage doubler in to give you the headroom of an 18V system but with 1x9V battery. It's modelled on the Aguilar OBP-1 but is a bit hotter. Tonally I don't think it's quite as aggressive as the OBP-1 though. Comes with 4 Spector-style plastic knobs with white dots on top. The EMG BTS is the former standard preamp from the Korean and Czech Spectors. This is the control, so it's a bass + treble control on seperate pots. This is the proper BTS and not the budget B32 found in ESP basses. It's 10dB boost/cut of bass, 12dB boost/cut treble, and has 4 settings for the treble control that are controlled via the jumpers on the circuit board. I've got it set at 2.1kHz but you can also do 3.5kHz, 4.5kHz and 7kHz. Being EMG it's powerful and clean, great for slap stuff. Comes with 4 chrome knobs with highly figured abalone caps. £25 each inc shipping. I've got wiring instructions for both.
I'll take the BTS circuit please! PM sent...
5. Pre-Kramer Spector NS2..... it's the "dogs back wheels"!
6. Hey Josh, This is quite a popular change to make for those not getting on with the TonePump. I'm sure you'll love it! Gary
7.
Please say a big "hello" to the Dr.Boogie...
Ooh I bet that sounds LUSH!
8. I have a set of jazz p/ups for sale, believed to be Fender, which I took off a Fender Jazz I inherited when I upgraded the hardware. In very good working condition. £20 + free postage.
9. Have a free BUMP for a lovely bass at a bargain price!
10.
bear in mind a rebop 4 has just been listed on this forum for £300,mike b.
That is the sellers choice to price it at that, and it is IMHO a bargain price. Bear in mind that said ReBop 4 does have some 'thumbrest damage/modification' though. I would say this ReBop 5 (with Aguilar pre-amp) is worth £400+. Bumping a great bass...
11.
Hello again, still pondering over your spector,it would seem that mint cond thro' neck 5's fetch around £480,so a bolt on in used cond has to be worth significantly less, also take off what you would pay ebay in commission & with a bit of haggling we may not be a million miles apart,if it doesn't make it in the auction send a PM thro the forum,I have a few days off work this week so collecting is not a problem, best of luck either way, mike b.
Not sure where you got that info mate.... maybe you saw a one-off.... A thru neck (i.e. Euro or US) 5-string would fetch at least £700, particularly as the new RRP is £1500. This bolt-on ReBop is, to my mind, realistically priced. Have a free bump!
12. A 'trade' doesn't normally have a 'price'

16.
I'll only use the two at any on time. Keep the others as spares or stage fillers for larger stages!!!! By the way i use a 90's Marshall DBS400 head....
Ah Nige, you trying to battle my "rig of doom" are you?!?
17.
You know what gets on my tits about Spectors (well the Euro LX ones) on the natural finish headstocks the serial is just printed on with really crappy ink, you can't even tell the second letter is supposed to be a B on mine and I've seen it on loads of others too.
If ever there was a reason NOT to buy one eh?
18. Not easy to play.... but GREAT FUN to play.... "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses
19. I believe you can specify you want 'black hardware' if you order your choice of Euro from your local Spector retailer....
