Nice work! I'd like to find a nice shirt with large stars all over it but googling 'stars shirt' is a hiding to nothing...
-
We're just trying to confirm exact timings, but as long as you're there between 10 and 5 you won't miss anything

Wondered if anyone has any experience/advice.... I have a full time job, company sorts tax etc so no self declaring... I've potentially got an opportunity to take a month sabbatical (unpaid) from my work and to do a tour with a US artist in Europe. Money won't be huge but will be around the same that I'm missing from my full time job so what, if any, are the tax implications? Do I need to do anything? Tell anyone etc? Cheers in advance!

Who's finally happy with their rig?

Once I discovered the holy grail tone combination (imho) of Spector and Gallien-Krueger (15 years ago) I was set... Classic 80's/90's GK400RB or 800RB, or early 2000's 700RB-II are my go to amp-wise now, with a more modern Legacy800 as backup. Similarly, once I discovered the Genz Benz Neox212 I found no need for another cab. 600W at 4ohms and a one hand lift. Job done. I even A/B'd it against the Barefaced equivalent with a fellow, respected, bassist and we both much preferred the Genz. Saved me spending a grand unnecessarily.... -
One reason why greatest guitarist lists are redundant

No Terry Kath on the list, no credibility.... -
@ezbass Amen! This and it's follow up 'Stampede' are my faves, with 'The Captain & Me' very close behind... Tiran's bass playing is off the scale!
-
I like the dip switches with both ON....

This preamp pedal is really quite something..... the trouble is I'm just not making use of it on my current projects so it's sitting in its case when someone should be enjoying the hell out of it! Every tone you could ask for.... from traditional round McCartney tones to high-gain 'solid lows but distorted hi-end' metal tones (Muse, Kings X etc) and everything inbetween..... plus a cool compressor and tuner built in too!! Manufacturer product info here: https://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/dp3x/ These are £350+ new and this one has only had home use.... and still has its sticker, booklet & warranty card in the metal tin.... I'm asking a very reasonable £240 inc postage. No silly low offers please as this thing is basically mint. Payment by direct bank transfer or Paypal (you pay fees). Please see my extensive positive feedback for assurance of a clean, honest transaction.

I'd go the 35P4 in the neck and 35DC in the bridge, all day every day.... Night and day from the Hz pickups and ideally matched with the BTS circuit.

The late great Owsley..... Like Kevin Gilbert (Toy Matinee etc) he is sadly missed. If you like Jellyfish, Squeeze, early The Feeling and great power-pop give this playlist a listen:
-
Just picked up one of these second hand and it has a lovely 4ohm/8ohm switch on the back. Any opinions on getting the most out of this sound/efficiency wise? I will be using it as a single cab (saving my bigger Genz 2x12 for bigger gigs). On quieter/lower volume backline gigs should I use it on 8 ohms and push it as required or notch it to 4ohms? I'll be using one of my heads (not sure which) GK400RB, GK700RB-II, GK Legacy800 (can preset to 8 or 4 ohms) or Tech21 VTBass500....
-
They're also huge Coldplay fans...... They're all yellow..... I'll get my coat... 🤣

Level 42 currently on tour... who's gone/going?
cetera replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
Saw them last night at Reading Hexagon. Fantastic show.... so tight and funky.... and FUN! Lots of smiles, killer horns and the drummer was off the chart. As for Mark King.... I've never particularly wanted to play like him but wow.... not sure how he plays/sings like that but he's hugely impressive. How does he not have an arthritic thumb/right hand?! lol! So great to see my old bass mate and fellow BassChatter @Bobby K nailing it with The Christians too! 😎
