1. Yep, it was a custom built Hamer Scarab.... Hamer Scarab Paul Stanley Custom
 2.
Cheers dude. Being quite the KISS fan I love Genes signature basses. I'm getting an Axe built for my collection, I'll have a guitar/bass for every member then. It'll take pride of place with my mirrorball Iceman Hopefully I shall see you at the Point in a couple of days. That's if I can get a ride there. I caught you at the Guitarfest about a year or two back, damn good band! Couldn't believe the amount of pyro for the size of the venue haha!
Ooh! Nice Iceman! Who did that for you? I have an original 1978 Paul Stanley signature Iceman in my collection but there ain't no way I'm letting my 'Paul' play it! lol! Cool! Come up and say 'Hi'! afterwards! Should be one helluva party - doors open at 6.30, the new Paul Stanley live DVD will be screened immediately, then we'll do a two hour show with all the pyro/firebreathing etc, hopefully at least one 'dancing girl' and thenBogiez rock club afterwards! That Guitarfest appearance was a last minute thing - glad you enjoyed it! We had to use their gear and just get up and play!

 4.
Allen has just PM'd me and said that if I take it to a tech he will pay for the repair. I've told him that this would require me to trust him and I am not in a position to do so following his earlier responses (and the fact that, like Jake's, this is a bit of a rearguard action). As I pointed out, I could end up with a £45 bill for the diagnostic process and still no amp or refund. Probably best to leave this be now. All that needs to be said has been said. Chris
Hey Allen, rather than do that and expect Beedster to trust you AGAIN... how about you just refund him the cost of the whole item + postage?!? If you want it back then you can pay the return postage too....
 5. It's OK, I'm here! ....and thanks for the 'UK God Of Thunder' comments After BC Rich produced the original prototypes (some of which had 4-in-a-line headstocks) Gene then took the design and (word is...) had them built by Fernandes for him to sell direct. I don't have proof of this... but Fernandes is the name most bandied around... They're nice basses.... a little neck heavy, but nice and punchy/growly!
 6. Oooo.... I'd love a Greco Thunderbird like that

 9. Well done everyone!
 10. QUOTE (niceguyhomer @ Nov 30 2008, 12:52 PM) ...since I've discovered the love that is Spector, it never gets picked up.
I now have this problem!
Ah, You now understand my pain....

 12.
Another Spector? The wife will be chuffed......................... Or is it in a secret underground bunker?
Ah, I sold one to buy one.... that's the rule of compromise
 13. Just received a beautiful red flame Spector EuroLX from Terry. He was patient with my payment..... then super-fast with shipping (VERY well packed)! Recommended as a top seller!
 14. Haha! Lovely to see you and a pleasure to do business with you John! Aye, I was sad to see said Spector leave the nest, but she is being replaced by another within days.... Hope you found your way home ok and didn't let Google Maps take you to the wrong home address
 15. Johnny drove up to my house, shot the breeze for 15 minutes and parted with mucho mullah for one of my Spectors. Bravo! Thoroughly recommended
 16. That's class.... joins Basschat, posts a bass for sale, doesn't like a question and goes off in a sulk! Legend!
 17. How much for the Cat? He is DAMN cute!
 18. Awww man..... can't believe you're getting rid of this beauty. I'd love it... but I, quite obviously, don't NEED it.... People, this is a bargain..... and a beauty of a bass. You won't get a new one for much under £1000 now so don't let this bargain get away!

 21.
I took these out of my basses today and wired the volumes straight to the jack. I never used the preamps, always left my basses flat and used the amp/desk EQ, and since buying my 400+ I'm deciding that the purer the signal path, the better I sound. So these are up for cheap. The tonepump is a boost-only bass + treble circuit with a voltage doubler in to give you the headroom of an 18V system but with 1x9V battery. It's modelled on the Aguilar OBP-1 but is a bit hotter. Tonally I don't think it's quite as aggressive as the OBP-1 though. Comes with 4 Spector-style plastic knobs with white dots on top. The EMG BTS is the former standard preamp from the Korean and Czech Spectors. This is the control, so it's a bass + treble control on seperate pots. This is the proper BTS and not the budget B32 found in ESP basses. It's 10dB boost/cut of bass, 12dB boost/cut treble, and has 4 settings for the treble control that are controlled via the jumpers on the circuit board. I've got it set at 2.1kHz but you can also do 3.5kHz, 4.5kHz and 7kHz. Being EMG it's powerful and clean, great for slap stuff. Comes with 4 chrome knobs with highly figured abalone caps. £25 each inc shipping. I've got wiring instructions for both.
I'll take the BTS circuit please! PM sent...
