  1. As a longtime Spector endorsee and collector I have always wanted to see a mid-price Euro version of their custom USA-X (Spectorbird) model.... So, using my contacts and linking up with UK retailer Bass Direct we organised a special limited custom run (less than 25) of just that! After a 9 month wait they have just arrived. Black, white, tobaccoburst flame and an amazing ultraviolet quilt! Equipped with EMG pickups, Tonepump preamp & gold hardware, they have turned out amazingly well.... I'm so pleased 🥰😎 Thanks to Bass Direct for their assistance and here's to our next custom build!
  2. Had this head for a year or so and it's awesome but I've barely touched it due to my GK endorsement and increased gigging (requiring GK visibility). Rehearsal use only and never turned up in anger... so 9.5 condition. Spec from Fender: The Rumble 800 Head is ideal for almost any genre of music, and at 800 watts, it has power to spare. The super-simple control interface makes it easy to dial-in the right bass tone for any gig. Its pure low-end and high-quality tone-shaping tools will please any bassist who desires a high-powered, lightweight rig. Like all Fender bass amplifiers, the Rumble 800 Head delivers thick, natural tone that sits perfectly in your live or studio mix. Includes footswitch and padded carrying bag. 8, 4 & 2 0hm capability 5.8lbs XLR Line Out (pre-Master) with Ground Lift switch & pre/post switch Stereo Aux input; Stereo Headphone out Fantastic overdrive circuit Three button tone voicing (vintage, contour & bright) FX loop Speakon/1/4" jack capability Footswitch These amps were the result of Fender absorbing the technical know-how of Genz Benz when they bought them out. As a result it's probably one of the most well designed and versatile amps I've ever used, with very intuitive eq, voicings & overdrive. I'll be very sad to see it go, but bills to pay. Comes with Fender padded bag, footswitch, instructions and power cable. New these are £650. I'll accept £400 inc UK shipping (Paypal or Bank Transfer) or collect from Camberley area with cash option. Please see my extensive positive feedback thread for assurance of a clean & honest transaction. Cheers!
  3. I'll take them please. Only really want the preamps if you will sell separately? Will PM.
  4. Got this for a fun 'office' bass but I don't really need it.... it's not like I haven't got loads of others to play! lol! Classic Ash 70's style Jazz with great tones and a fantastic reputation at a very low price point. Plays and feels excellent... just surplus to requirements for me. J-Style Body: American ash Bolt-on neck: maple Fretboard: Maple Black fretboard binding Roseacer skunk stripe Black block inlays 20 Frets Nut width: 38 mm Long scale: 864 mm Dual-action truss rod Pickups: 2x Roswell JBA Alnico-5 Vintage JB-style single coils 2 Volume knobs and 1 tone knob Deluxe chrome hardware Classic PB-style machine heads Colour: Natural High-gloss Excellent general condition. These are £150 from Thomann so save yourself £50 off retail and come and collect it from me. Alternatively I can meet you within 30 miles for £10 fuel or I can take the neck off and ship for £25 if you want.... Payment in cash (collection/meet) or Paypal (you pay fees)/bank transfer if you want it sent. Please see my very extensive positive feedback thread for assurance of a clean, honest transaction.
  5. Not to be difficult... but surely you know their address to return the preamp? Send it back with a print copy of email conversation and ask for a refund asap.
  6. My Mum listened to The Rolling Stones and Mario Lanza. My Dad listened to The Beatles, Rick Nelson and The Shadows. My Sister listened to Barry Manilow, David Cassidy and Queen. My Brother listened to Earth, Wind & Fire, Santana, Mike Oldfield, Osibisa and ELO. I majorly took my brother's influence, added Queen from my Sister, and then followed my own path using those bands as great starters.... I do now also own Stones, Beatles, Rick Nelson & Shadows stuff too though
  7. https://www.mansons.co.uk/blog/post/manson-guitar-shop-update-2023 Sad news, losing such a highly respected retailer...

  9. Not for long. It's closing down....
  10. ...and Alan Parsons Project, Elton John (that fretless on Nikita!), Pilot etc....
  11. David Paton, Herbie Flowers, Kip Winger, John Deacon....
  12. Fantastic sold out gig at Sudbury Quay Theatre last night with Leather & Lace! Crowd were well up for it and we had a great sound. 👍 I was especially pleased when the Sound guy told me that mine was the best bass tone he's ever been presented with!😲 Had a few more compliments on my sound from punters after too.... 🎸🎶😎
  13. Oooooh! Are we back to the 'music is a competition' thread?
  14. I wouldn't call any of it 'shocking' tbh. Decent drummer on the first vid but she was all about hitting hard, which any drummer can do tbh... Those last 2 vids (above) were just 'lets see how many funny noises we can make....' and on the 1st one 'then sing badly over'. But hey, I'm probably not the angst ridden outsider this is aimed at.....maybe I just like a good tune...
  15. Gotta say I prefer the Fender. Much nicer, characterful tone. It has an 'identity' that the Sadowsky seems to lack....
  16. My choice would be a Bergantino NV610. It's lighter, fantastically made and known as the SVT killer. Look out for a used one at Bass Direct or here on Basschat. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Bergantino_NV610.html
  17. I always thought that Verdine White should play a white Spector.... would look and sound awesome!
  18. He was a regular at Cropredy Festival for many years too as he was a good friend of the Fairport Convention guys. I was lucky enough to join them all in their backstage trailer post headline show one year with much drink and many songs. He was a lovely chap and a huge music lover. RIP.
  19. Anything with Mike Porcaro or David Hungate on it (basically anything coming out of LA from mid 70#s through to mid 80's).
  20. I know. I organised the special run Will actually be available within 6 weeks.
  21. Peter Cetera on the early Chicago albums, Tiran Porter with The Doobie Brothers, Dee Murray on 70's Elton John, John Deacon with Queen, Rutger Gunnarsson and Mike Watson with Abba, Joe Puerta with Ambrosia, Martin Tiefensee on 70's Lake, David Paton with Pilot/Alan Parsons Project and early Kate Bush.... That little lot are awesome and should keep you busy with listening and absorbing for now
