  1. How many is too many? Who's to say?! I have 76. Would be happy to have a few more and will also be moving some of what I currently have on too...
  2. The trouble with tolerating people like this is, in the long run, it'll come back to bite you in the derrière. They don't change when they're that set in their ways. It'll grind you down or come to a head and then you'll wish you hadn't put up with it so long as you've wasted time and missed out on other potential opportunities. Tolerating is enabling....
  3. Get rid...... or leave. Scratch his car on the way out and then chat his sister up. When he complains, tell him you don't like restrictions and prefer to operate 'by feel'....
  4. Ian Anderson does not have a pseudonym of Gerald Bostock registered with PRS.
  5. I don't believe there's any issue with spoken words clips as such but, as Jus Lukin says above, a little polite enquiry always goes a long way and could save hassle down the road. Alternatively, why don't you just record yourself/friends saying what you want?
  6. The other option that many bands sign up to is to split the publishing side between them. That way, if there really is a main songwriter who does most of it, then the whole band split the publishing pot but the writer solely gets his writing share.
  7. No, he likes the proper Spectorbird.
  8. Just discovered Nektar........ and really enjoying this crazy album! Fantastic bass playing too....
  9. Cheers Muzz! 😃 Spector Euro 'Ian Hill' sig model, dimed, into Gallien Krueger Legacy 800 Head and Genz Benz Neox 2x12 cab with chorus effect from the Zoom B3....... 😎
  10. Is that the No Nukes one? If so, I have an old VHS of the whole show including Jackson Browne, Nicolette Larsen, The Doobie Brothers etc.... great gig!
  11. Doobie Brothers - Live at the Beacon Alan Parsons - The Neverending Show Alan Parsons Symphonic Project - Live in Columbia Styx - The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight The Dukes Of September - Live At Lincoln Centre Toto - 40 Tours Around The Sun
  12. Had a fab sell-out show on Saturday night at Teignmouth Pavilion Theatre with Leather & Lace. Here's a little clip of our lovely female singer Tanyth nailing 'Black Velvet'... https://fb.watch/9swAV05Tkf/
  13. Just 3 shows left this year.... Kip Winger with his awesome acoustic show at The Black Heart in Camden this coming Saturday night... then the fantastic Rush tribute 'Bravado' at The Tropic in Ruislip on Fri 10 Dec... and possibly acid-jazz legends 'Corduroy' at The Holroyd in Guildford on 28 Dec!
  14. Absolutely stunning mate! I too had been eyeing that bass on the BD website, but my finances don't line up at this time.... Enjoy! It's an addiction...... believe me.... lol!
  15. Spector and GK all day every day for me, but then you already knew that. The Spector feels like a part of me and in conjunction with GK gives me 'my' sound. I also enjoy a good Fender P, Wal and a few others..... as well as Tech 21 for preamps and Genz Benz amps/cabs. Lots of great stuff out there.... and I own many different brands which I enjoy for their individual qualities.
  16. This is really one of the only types of 'bass solo' I like. One that's been worked out within the context of the song and compliments it..... The late, great Paul Goddard, live on stage with Southern rockers 'Atlanta Rhythm Section'. Go to 3:00
  17. When I used to do that it was definitely more entertaining than the average bass solo and noone disappeared off to the bar or toilet! 😉🤣😂
  18. Agreed. You will ever only put me on the spot once. Never again.... I will only play a short solo if PREVIOUSLY agreed.
  19. My Rumble combo and Spark Booster pedal are also two of my best purchases in recent years! Rumble - terrific sound, portability and value for money. The Spark Booster just adds the right amount of light overdrive to raise your bass through the mix. Excellent stuff!
  20. Well you're certainly making me laugh.... though probably not in your intended way 😉
  21. Kip's doing more than fine. Happy, healthy, solo career, band still performing, critically acclaimed ballet and symphony and a stage show too.... More than can be said of most of the junkies (many who are dead now) who supposedly 'killed' his career....
