Great gig, depping with Duran/Spandau show 'From Gold To Rio' in Gainsborough on Saturday night. Almost full.... and receptive audience up and singing/dancing. Bass sounded great in my IEM's, and apparently out front too, really cutting/punching through. Gear used: Spector Dimension HP4 set flat, through dimed HAZardlAMPS preamp pedal, in to HXStomp with my own EQ'd GK800RB/Ampeg 810 setting (& chorus where needed).... and out to desk.

One of my fave Journey songs.... just stunning Featuring, among other things, Steve Perry's amazing, soulful vocals....Neal Schon's perfect guitar solo (Rick Beato's fave solo too!) and Ross Valory's chorus soaked bass and harmonics....

I'm more offended by their homogenised, twee pop-reggae tbh. How about Tim Westwood? More Ali-G than Ali-G....

I don't do any deps without prep time and a decent fee (unless there are multiple events I'm needed for with the same band). It saves me hours of short notice stress for little reward and, most importantly, I always like to do the songs (and band I'm depping with) justice....

A general thanks to the majority of contributors to this thread for engaging thoughtfully and honestly in the spirit I originally posted it. It's made for an interesting read and I am reassured at the moral compasses of most of you. Not sure what more can be said, so Mods - I think we can probably close this now as we're getting off topic, arguing interpretation of law etc.

You need to go back and read the thread. YOU mentioned 'band mates' shouting at hotels. Noone else has mentioned that at all. But anyway.... back to hearing the views of more of our bellow bass brethren...

Point missed, as usual... The only person talking about bandmates shouting at hotels is you. This discussion is much wider and more nuanced than that, but again your use of sarcasm betrays you....

Interesting response and this is kinda the crux of the question so thanks for that. It presents an interesting dilemma... How important are our own personal moral compasses/opinions and should we just try to get along, accepting others' opinions (even if they may be repulsive to us)? For me, my moral compass won't allow me to 'get along' with someone who holds such abhorrent opinions....

No it wouldn't prevent you working with them..... or no you wouldn't work with them?
