  1. I played a weekend of deps with local covers band 'The Lee Aaron Band' (NOT the Canadian rock goddess Lee Aaron 😉) in the NE Hants area..... Great nights, lots of compliments from punters.... and the landlord on Friday was a bassist too (and owner of a few Goodfellow basses)! He told me my bass sound was the best he's ever heard in his pub, which was nice! I was using my Spector Euro Classic with GK Legacy head/Genz Neo212 cab. Saturday's gig saw me debut my new 'oddity' (see pic below). See thread here: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/502803-nbd-spectorbacker-or-is-it-a-rickenspector-or-maybe-a-kipenspector/
  2. I have: Simply Dan (awesome Steely Dan tribute) this Friday night in Wokingham Alastair Greene (ex-Alan Parsons Live Project guitarist) with his blues band next Thursday in Aldershit Alice Cooper on Sat 20th at Hammy-O Uncle Funk at Bracknell on Sat 26th Stewart Copeland (spoken word) in Fleet on Sun 3rd Nov Big Horizon (debut show from Jeff Lynne's backing band in ELO.... feat. Lee Pomeroy) at Pizza Express, London on 8th Nov Nu-Yacht Kings 'Young Gun Silver Fox' at Islington Assembly Hall on 30th Nov Falling In Reverse at O2 Arena on 16 Dec. Plenty to keep my busy between now and Xmas then!
  3. I flew over to Germany with my bass. I didn't need to declare it/get a carnet because it was classed as a personal possession and was with me at all times.
  4. I thought it was Mo Foster?
  5. I'll be depping on bass with the Lee Aaron Band (not the Canadian melodic rock goddess) at The Royal Oak, Alton on Friday and The Station, Fleet on Saturday.
  6. "Do Not Cross" or "Do Not Enter" tape, taped across the front of stage between PA stands.
  7. I find a good 2x12 reproduces everything I need, whether in a rock show or a disco/pop function band. My cab of choice is the now discontinued GenzBenz Neox 2x12. Full range, bass ports, tweeter, 600W at 4ohms and a relatively lightweight.
  8. I'll wait for the disappointed people to sell on their ones for around £500
  9. This thread is who you saw last, not who you'll see next
  10. Damn.... when I saw the thread title I thought "now THAT'S something I can contribute to. I can name 10 bass players!" Sadly not. As you were.......
  11. Oh come on...... "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavour....", "My Old Man's A Dustman" etc?!?!? Gen Z would kill for tracks like that... (If they havent already sampled them and auto-tuned them to bu**ery.....?)
  12. Translation: If he really loved that music then who are we to say otherwise.
  13. If Lonnie Donegan made him feel warm and fuzzy then that was completely valid in his lived existence.
  14. I imagine we're just underwhelmed by the influx of Tik-Tokers, 'influencers' and other social media nobodies and prefer to find our bass heroes through their actual music giving us goosebumps etc?
  15. Anything is good for metal if you put it through a Darkglass pedal....
  16. I wasn't pointing it out to be facetious. I was just putting the facts out there in case anyone were interested in her actual birth name as her stage name is funky...
  17. It's still her middle name. Her birth name is Tabitha.
  18. Just for clarity, her name is Tabitha Blu Detiger. She has chosen to reframe it as Blu DeTiger because it's obviously more memorable. Not sure what that contributes to this discussion but hey-ho!
  19. Tyketto with support from Little Caesar and Dan Byrne at 1865 in Southampton last night. Fantastic venue with great sound and lights. Dan Byrne was a revelation.... cracking original rock songs and my old band mate Glenn played a blinder on guitar. Haven't seen Little Caesar in probably 30 years but they still rock hard in their sleazy AC/DC-ish way and were very entertaining. Tyketto were wonderful as always. I first saw them 35 years ago and have followed them ever since. Singer Danny Vaughn, now 63, still sounds just as good, if not better, than he did back then. He has no right to such amazing vocal pipes! Lovely to see Chris Childs (Thunder etc) on bass and to catch up with him for a pint afterwards too. Splendid evening
  20. I have one of these. Changed the scratchplate to mirror. Cuts through sonically AND visually now....
