  1. All Saints..... weren't they the ones who sang "You can lick my hole again"? Not very Saint-like...
  2. Sounds to me like they were telling you to look and sound like a generic modern metal bassist. There is more to life than Dingwall and Darkglass.... and you can create your own musical identity in the process. Or maybe they just want your bass to disappear behind the heavy guitars and bass drum.....
  3. Nope, just nope.
  4. I always much preferred Ratt to Crue, Poison, etc.... they just seemed to have the edge on cool riffs and had much better guitarists.
  5. I've known about them/loved them for 10+ years, but I certainly wasn't aware of them at the time. Guy Pratt's vids have brought them to the ears of more people now than ever were fans back in the day. A fantastic album for sure!
  6. Lovely to share the discovery with you, Sir! Both of our lives are that much the richer for it!
  7. One of my fave bands of all time I actually only discovered a couple of years ago...... but their first 4 albums (from 1976 - 1980) are, to my ears, masterpieces. The band is 'Lake' - a German/British rock band with a sound somewhere between Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Wish I'd known about them earlier.... but I would have been under 10 years old at that time!
  8. I'd say Terry Kath (of Chicago) IMHO. Hendrix was blown away by him too. Had he been in a power trio (like Cream/ Mountain / Experience etc) everybody would be praising his name. However, as an ensemble player in a 7 piece band with a 3 piece brass section his amazing talents have always been underrated (except for by those in the know (Hendrix, Lukather, Walsh, Lynne etc etc).
  9. I believe that's the remainder of the old stock.
  10. Stunner! Congrats and welcome to the club
  11. Love it..... GLWTS!
  12. I've enjoyed each of the 'singles' I've heard on Planet Rock. Nice bass playing on there too... I may have to pick up the CD at some point
  13. This was the cheapest entry level Spector approx 10 years ago. The bassist here has added the pickguard.
  14. You only need one bass....... Nah.... not really!! 😂🤣😂🤣
  15. I much preferred KISS' unplugged performance. It showed that there were real 'songs' and genuine talent behind all the flashbombs and pizzazz....
  16. Price reduced to just £1100 !! No time wasters or low ball offers please.
  17. Me too.... I have interest, but noone making the final bite yet. Fantastic instrument.... and as you say, collectable into the bargain!
  18. Not particularly. I use a good strap.... and the headstock hardware is strong but lightweight.
  19. Just put it on the scales...... nice and lightweight! Weighing in at approx 3.6 kgs / 7.9 Ibs.
  20. Having been a Toy Matinee fan for 15+ years, it's heartening that so many other people are finally discovering their magic. It used to feel like a very special secret..... but it's lovely that it is having a new lease of life. Just a terrible shame that the amazing Kevin Gilbert is no longer around to enjoy it
  21. Not at all..... I found my fingers fell into place naturally and it wasn't a struggle in the slightest!
  22. And then I owned it..... and now Steve Clark has it! Still in the Basschat family
