  1. PM incoming! I'll take it
  2. Interesting, every review I've seen, and I've seen a fair few all say how great this bass i, with the ONLY concerns being the lack of sliding pickup, the shaping of the pickguard (don't notice it on the black tbh) and the price. Your use of the word 'most' is interesting too. Most that you've seen, or most of ALL the reviews out there. I'm guessing you've clicked on a couple of youtube nobodies.....
  3. That's where the name came from, yes. Epiphone have replaced it with a very effective humbucker/single coil switch which gives a great range of tones.
  4. No, not too bad at all.... and has a lovely feel to the neck!
  5. No, It's screwed into the hardshell case case from above. The case is twice the depth it needs to be so thinking I might unscrew it/take it out and rack it into a lightweight shallow case....
  6. Just given it a half hour run out through my rig..... This thing sounds MONSTROUS! Quite a revelation....! I think it just could be my best sounding passive bass 🤯
  7. I switched on eBay on Sunday night to check my saved searches...... and I couldn't believe my luck..... A mint condition, 2024 Epiphone Grabber, with it's soft case, had just been listed at £499 Buy It Now with free shipping! An 'excellent feedback' seller too! I really wanted one of these when they were released, but there was no way I was gonna spend £900+ on an Epiphone so, when I saw this, it was a no-brainer! It arrived today, exactly as described..... and I'm thrilled 😎
  8. 400RB Mark IV received 😎 Great service from RichTone Music. Superbly packed and the amp is in GREAT condition - No noisy pots, nice and clean and boy is it LOUD! These amps have so much punch and authority, they're unbeatable! Looks great in my GK collection alongside my original 400RBs, 800RBs, 700RB-II and Legacy800 too! Thanks for the heads up @ossyrocks!

    Aria bass

This was an Aria copy of the ESP PPJ 'Masayoshi Yamashita' (Loudness bassist) signature bass. I had a cream ESP one which I sold. I still have a black ESP one in my arsenal....
  10. You can't go wrong with the Squier CV 60's P Bass. Not a significant upgrade on what you have, but a solid, reliable and great sounding bass for sure.
  11. Nope. Never have, never will.
  12. On New Years Eve I played with the CoStars at our annual booking of the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. A couple of hundred people (mainly in the 50+ age bracket) in full ball gowns/dinner suits enjoying a slap up meal with dinner jazz..... and then dancing to us afterwards. Kicked off around 10.30 and played a 50 min opening set then took a 20 min break and continued from 11.40, across midnight until 1am. A mix of tunes to suit slightly older tastes (Carpenters to Dolly Parton to EW&F to Sophie Ellis Bextor via Gloria Gaynor, The Beatles, Frankie Valli and more), with a punky 'Auld Lang Syne' followed by Sinatra's 'New York New York' and The Proclaimers' '500 Miles' at midnight and everyone seemed happy. Broke out my Spector Coda 4 for this one and was pleased how it handled the variety of styles. Home at 4.30 and in bed by 5am....zzzzz...
  13. I'd just tune one of my 4 string basses down to Eb and play as normal. I'd then use the Polycapo on my HX Stomp or a Digitech Drop to drop me an extra semitone for any occasional tracks in D.
  14. Nice! Very Geddy tone. What settings are you using on the bass/what preamp or processing are you using?
  15. Stunner 🔥🔥
  16. Neither of which ARE yacht rock.... so you've missed the point... As for the style of music and the term 'yacht rock' that has been affectionately applied to it, I love it. The Doobies, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Ambrosia, Toto etc are some of the finest musicians with the best written, arranged and performed music in popular music history. Yacht Rock has seen a huge resurgence in popularity over the last few years, raising the profile of the classic original artists....and enabling a movement of fantastic new artists like Young Gun Silver Fox, Dawn Patrol, Page99, State Cows, Joel Sarakula, Big Horizon etc I'm loving it.... and Beato is just posting clickbait.
  17. I'll be playing a posh ticketed event at the lovely Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. Been a regular gig now for about 7 or so years and is a nice earner to pay off Xmas!
  18. Because they're very busy working people with family lives and multiple bands (and hence hundreds of songs) who get together as this band for fun.... You know....fun...... that thing the audience were having....
  19. They have music and/or lyrics on them..... ..... and noone cares.....
  20. Xmas gig with local covers band 'Too Much Fun' at Thames Side Brewery in Staines last night. Fantastic evening.... 100+ punters in, all up for a sing and dance and enjoying our varied set of 60's/70's classics.... and there were some interesting ales/ciders on tap alongside some good food! 😉👍 Cool For Cats and Rhythm Stick went down especially well.... as did the Xmas songs (Slade/Wizzard)... but surprise of the night was seeing pensioners rocking the dance floor for our mental encore of Pretty Vacant... 😲🤣😂 I played my Jap Fender FSR 70's P, thru my Haz pedal, GK Legacy800 and Genz 2x12 last night and had some lovely compliments afterwards on both my sound and my playing, which sealed the deal nicely. 🎸👍😎🥰
  21. Impossible to list just 5 bass influences so here are 10.... Gene Simmons Peter Cetera Tiran Porter Dee Murray John Deacon Rutger Gunnarsson Martin Tiefensee Kip Winger Paul Goddard Phil Lynott Bonus extras: Joe Puerta Steve Harris Eddie Jackson
  22. That'll be because it was written by the Tuesday Night Music Club (Kevin Gilbert etc)
  23. Because then noone would spend stupid money on a US custom shop one
