  1. Gorgeous basses. Do a search of this site for them and you'll see a couple of people own/have owned them and only have great things to say....
  2. Strange. I've never struggled for different tones. I've used mine for everything from funk to rock to disco to reggae .. and it's delivered every time.
  3. I would look at a Spector with EMGs rather than the Barts. Different kettle 'o' fish and the stand out by far.
  4. His new vid is up: p
  5. I wouldn't say I actively search out new music, but occasionally some new music catches my ear..... the odd new rock act playlisted on Planet Rock... or sometimes something that reminds me of classic older music that I like. e.g. new 'Yacht Rock' purveyors "Young Gun Silver Fox". Otherwise, I like finding 'new to me' old music, typically from the 70's.... e.g. Lake, Lucifer's Friend, Zon etc I prefer my music, whatever the style, to be organic so soulless modern pop, dance, rap music etc generally leaves me cold.
  6. Sorry, no... Good luck with the band.
  7. Damn.... two more added to the stable (in bold). I really should sell a few now.... 8. I love red basses! Planning to get a red Euro 4 classic soon...
  9. Let me know if the buyer doesn't come through...
  10. Lol! Yes mate.... about the only use it's had.... home recording of lockdown Youtube vids! Not sure about the fanbase/£100 extra but thanks! 😉
  11. Going through my old 'big rig' gear and decided that this fantastic rack flightcase is surplus to requirements. An 8u rack, foam cushioned around the sides and foam inside front and back covers too. Also has a fan built in to rear which can be connected up if you wish to help cool any e.g. valve gear. Rack handles on sides.... and the covers are on front and back (back cover has wheels) This case cost £hundreds at the time of build/purchase and is well gigged (but fully functional). Collection only from Ewell/Epsom area (very heavy) and please note that the Furman/BBE/Pod Pro/Samson wireless are NOT included in the sale! Please see my extensive, positive feedback thread for assurance of a clean, honest transaction. Thanks!
  12. Moving on this fabulous combo - loud enough for acoustic gigs, rehearsals and home practice. Only selling as I've bought a more powerful version to leave at my friends lockup for function gigs... otherwise I'd keep it! Probably the best sounding/value for money small combo on the market - this thing sounds awesome even when set flat, but add in a little of the EQ and/or select the contour button or inbuilt overdrive and you move into other fantastic sonic territories! A useful extra is the Aux In, allowing you to play along to your I-Pod or external media of choice 🙂 Here's the blurb: "The all-new Rumble Series is a mighty leap forward in the evolution of portable bass amps. With its beefier power amp and larger, ported speaker enclosure, the Rumble 25 pumps greater volume and deeper bass response. In addition to standard volume and EQ controls, the Rumble 25 adds a newly-developed overdrive circuit and switchable Contour control, delivering gritty bite and slap-worthy punch at the mere push of a button." Amplifier Type: Solid State Colour: Black/Silver Weight: 21 lbs. (9.53 kg) Height: 15.25" (38.74 cm) Width: 15.25" (38.74 cm) Depth: 11" (27.94 cm) Output Power: 25 watts Speaker: One - 8" Fender® Special Design Impedance: 8 ohms Inputs: One - 1/4" Auxiliary Input: 1/8" Stereo Channels: One Controls: Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble Headphone Jack: 1/4" Cover/Grille Cloth: Black Textured Vinyl Covering with Silver Grille Cloth Handle: Molded Plastic Strap with Nickel-Plated Caps Knobs: Ivory Soft Touch Radio Knobs Pilot Light Jewel: Red LED Other Features: Classic Fender styling, soft-touch radio knobs, removable front grille These are approx £125 new. Mine is in fantastic, lightly used, condition so asking a very reasonable £SOLD, cash on collection or direct bank transfer on collection only please. At this price there is no point offering shipping... Collection from Woking/Guildford area or can meet within 25 miles for petrol money. Please see my very extensive, positive feedback thread for assurance of a trustworthy and honest transaction. Thanks!
  13. My faves, by far... Kate Bush Sandy Denny (Fairport Convention & solo) Karen Carpenter (Carpenters) Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation)
  14. Cheers! Love this one.... but I was more looking for the original late 80's Japanese model.
  15. Welcome to the club! Prepare for an addiction....
  16. Well the latter years of that made for depressing viewing. Particularly the last 20 years.... and specifically the last 10....
  17. Saw that on eBay! Congrats!
  18. I've been in bands solidly for 30 years... and I'm still gigging in a theatre rock show. Great venues and audiences.... but Covid has shown me how little I miss all the band drama, venue nonsense, travel etc. Wondering whether the 2+ hours onstage are really worth it anymore. During lockdown I've been recording myself playing my fave basslines, initially for myself, but now sharing them with some friends and I'm finding it fun and rewarding. With the unknown situation we're gonna hit in theatreland when things finally get up and running I'm wondering if I can be bothered anymore.... but part of that lack of enthusiasm may be misplaced from recent 'guitard' dealings which has left a sour taste.... An unprecedented situation that is leaving me confused...
  19. Peter Cetera on "Chicago: Live In Japan" Dee Murray on "Elton John: 17-11-70" Leon Wilkeson on "Lynyrd Skynyrd: One More For From The Road"
  20. This guy is my fave Bassist Youtuber. If I ever need to learn a cover song accurately I always check his vids first..... https://www.youtube.com/user/TJH3113
  21. If it's a bolt on it isn't a Euro 4 LX. It's possibly a ReBop or a Eurobolt if it's definitely made in Czech republic. Any pics? Without knowing what it is for sure.... and the condition etc it's impossible to know whether the price is good. There is a Eurobolt on ebay at the moment for the same kind of price if that helps...?
  22. I have a white one just like this. Great looking bass and pretty comfy to play too....!
  23. Sounds like your issue is EQ. Any decent quality head and 2x12 size cab or larger should be fine once you find your 'EQ space' in your band. Be aware that the lovely sound you have at home is probably not the same sound that would work well cutting through a band. e.g. so many people like the smiley face EQ and then wonder why their tone disappears live behind the bass drum and the guitars/cymbals. Work on your mids - low mid is more effective than full on bass.... and high mids will add the clank that cuts in a rock band. If you're adding pedals you will also further blur the EQ and minimise the difference in head that you use. Any good 'typical rock' head with a quality cab with decent power should do the business when EQ'd correctly... e.g. GK, Ampeg, EBS etc...
  24. I'm the opposite! I MUCH prefer the looks, feel and (in particular) sound of my Spectorbird NS2X, Fernandes Non-Reverse Spectorbird copy, Jackson TBird and Fernandes TBird to any Gibson/Epi Tbird I've owned or played....
  25. Next one is up!
