Saw the fabulous Kate Bush tribute 'Cloudbusting' last night at the Half Moon in Putney with the wonderful original Kate Bush bassist/engineer Del Palmer guesting on bass! Beautiful, emotional music.... sublime basslines...... just perfect!

Here we have my fantastic original Japanese made (circa 1990) ESP Horizon Custom Bass in a beautiful cherry sunburst and upgraded pickups/circuit. Maple?Alder? body Maple thru-neck Ebony board Chrome hardware Upgraded to EMG P/J with 3 band BQC circuit for every tone you could possibly require This instrument is in fantastic 9.5/10 condition with just a moved rear strap peg hole to knock 0.5 off the condition. It plays beautifully, with a very comfortable neck and an incredibly wide tonal palette thanks to the EMG 3 band circuit/pickups. Also included is the original ESP case. This is the same type of bass Muzz Skillings played with Living Colour during the early glory days.....(albeit a 4-string version of his 5)! I'll be sad to see it go & only selling to clear some debt so not looking for any trades/offers. Bass is located in Guildford/Woking area and I can courier at buyers expense (prob approx £40) or can meet in South East England for petrol. Payment by cash, bank transfer or Paypal (you pay all fees) only please. Please see my extensive positive feedback record for assurance of a smooth and honest transaction.

Here we have my fantastic original Japanese 80's made Tokai Hardpuncher PJ55 Bass in red with matching red headstock. Solid Ash or Alder body Maple bolt-on neck Rosewood board Gold hardware Nice punchy Tokai P/J passive pickups for every tone you could possibly require! V/V/T Controls. This instrument is in very good, used, players condition with some dings and scratches but plays beautifully. Very playable neck and a wide total palette capable of punching through the muddiest of mixes. The hardware is a little pitted due to age and there is also a little residue (?glue) on the front top horn and some lightly faded areas in the red finish where a previous owner had put some stickers (can only be seen close up). I'll be sad to see it go & only selling to clear some debt so not looking for any trades/offers. PRICE DROP!! - Was £350, £325, £300, £275.... now just £250! VISA card needs paying back so here we have my fantastic original Japanese made (late 80's) Fernandes Ltd Edition PJ60 Bass in eye-catching bold red. Basswood body Maple bolt-on neck Rosewood board Black hardware FGI active P/J pickups & preamp (like EMGs) for every tone you could possibly require! Vol/Bal/Treb/Bass controls Usual fantastic Japanese build quality. This is no entry level instrument - feels, plays & sounds great in any professional environment. A crazily good bass and an absolute bargain!! This instrument is in fantastic condition with just a few very light dings and plays beautifully. Very slim and playable neck and a wide tonal palette. It sounds hugely resonant unplugged (always a good sign!) and this is continued when plugging in! I'll be sad to see it go & only selling to clear some debt so not looking for any trades/offers. Bass is located in Guildford/Woking area and I can courier at buyers expense (prob approx £30-£40) or can meet in South East England for petrol. Yep, those freebies can be very persuasive

Me too! Looking forward to seeing our pal Davey Rimmer (who attended the SE Bass Bash last year) doing his thing on bass with the Heep!

There are likely two allen key locks (either side of the bridge). With both loosened, position/adjust your saddles to a comfortable height and set the intonation moving saddles forward/back accordingly. When happy, re-tighten the allen screws either side of the bridge. :) Tonepump Jr is a less dramatically eq-changing/boosting/cutting preamp than it's bigger brother - the Tonepump.

Yep, I got a couple of those cases too!

Good work! And your drummer 'swings' which is great for your groove :)

Andertons in Guildford (30 min train from London Waterloo) usually have 3 or 4 Spectors in stock. Plenty on their website too so if there's any particular ones you want to try then ring them in advance and they can get them into the shop for you from their warehouse...

Eddie Jackson with Queensryche on the 'Operation Mindcrim'e album - particularly the tracks 'Eyes Of A Stranger' and 'I Don't Believe In Love' - Gorgeous grinding Spector NS2/GK800RB tone! Tiran Porter with the Doobie Brothers - classic flatwound/pick thud, particularly on the albums Captain & Me, What Were Once Vices & Stampede. Guy Pratt with Toy Matinee. Ocatved Stingray goodness and groove for days!

Yep. Epiphone have stolen their thunder across the board. They've made some cracking vintage Tbirds recently.... and (for guitar) some of their LP's, Explorers & sig models have been astounding quality/value for money instruments!

Glad it worked out........ for now........ but he won't change. Within weeks he'll be back to his old self. There's plenty of half decent guitarists out there...... you should still get rid!

Bought my first proper Spector from there in the late 80's/early 90's. A beautiful (used but mint) cherry sunburst US made pre-Kramer Spector NS2, in its case...... I had only just started work so they were good enough to take a deposit and let me pay it off over a year! The day I went in with my dad to make the final payment and take it away will always stay with me and started the big love affair of my life with Spectors. I can still remember opening the case, the look of the bass and the smell of the case/polish.... Ah, good times.... Still have the bass too!

That mid period where his songs were written by BA Robertson, Alan Tarney and Terry Britten was awesome... Some fine bass playing too by Alan Tarney!

I'm sure Cliff really enjoys recording/performing and that is what keeps him doing it, so good luck to him! However, there is bound to be a financial implication. Not only did he not write any of his famous material (so never ever benefited from performing rights monies) but the monies from sound recordings runs out after 50 years so his most legendary late 50's thru 60s hits will no longer garner him a performers' sound recording royalty either.
