Lol! I'm 6ft 2 without boots anyway! The boots are in storage..... and may come out if I want to win a high stakes 'Halloween costume' competition! Cheers mate - we're getting around England/Wales a fair bit during 2019 but hope to get up to Scotland in 2020 -

I formed and then spent 26 years with the KISS Tribute 'Dressed To Kill'. We were one of the first tributes in this country (along with T-Rextasy/Bootleg Beatles/Counterfeit Stones) and so were lucky enough to get in first with fan clubs, Promoters, the band themselves etc.... It was hard work - I immersed myself in the character and had to have an expensive costume made, learn to firebreathe, stomp around on 7" monster stack heels, spit blood and lead sing while hip grinding and playing bass (!!) etc.... but it was well worth it for the life experiences, travel, reasonable financial reward and people (women) *ahem* I met! Highlights included: 10 day 'tribute package' tour of major Japanese theatres and arenas (inc 12,000 at the Tokyo Ariake Coliseum!) with TV interviews and live show on NHK Halloween 'private party' at Casino De Paris in Monaco for the highest rollers Multiple dates across Spain, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Norway & Sweden for Promoters and Fan Club events Appearing with Gene Simmons in both his 'Rock School' & 'Family Jewels' TV series' MTV Interview/Feature on Headbangers Ball 3 page 'spread' in Kerrang on our FIRST ever show! Live reviews in major rock publications (RAW, Kerrang, Metal Hammer ettc) KISS Product launches (album releases, DVD promo) Volvo corporate launch party Playing to 5000 people on the beach as the sun went down at Lloret De Mar in Spain. Headlining various tribute festivals etc etc etc However, after you've done it for the length of time I did, you look across the stage and see a bunch of tired, ageing guys paying tribute to an even older group of guys and realise that it would be nice to go out on top so I stopped. They have continued on and are proving my point for leaving... I now perform with a fantastic theatre tribute to 'Rock Anthems & Power Ballads' called 'LEATHER & LACE' which I love as I get to stretch my musical muscles and I don't have to wear costume armour with 7" monster stack heel boots etc... lol! Here's our promo (all music is us!): -
I guess I just have high standards...... but I expected more of both programmes so far. I understand they were only one hour episodes but too many influential names etc were left unsaid/unappreciated........ I really could have done without Joy Division/New Order appearing in both. Eurghh... As Nancy Johnson said, I can think of a million more passionate, entertaining, experienced and influential musicians to present the shows too.... I appreciate that ANY TV programme about real musical instruments/musicians should be welcomed.... I just feel that, imho, it was another wasted opportunity.

Yep....! Mine says "Expected by 26 Jan"

Thank you, but I don't need your permission

Have you been looking for an 'as new' Dingwall NG2 but for at least a couple of hundred pounds less than shop price?! Then your prayers have been answered....! I only bought this a matter of months ago and I'll be very sorry to see it go as everyone else seems to LOVE it.... but I just keep returning to my trusty Spectors.... so, as a result, is surplus to requirements. The Spec: Body: Alder Neck: 5-piece Maple (Medium thin C shape) Fingerboard: Maple with 'fanned fret' system. Frets: 18% hard nickel silver 'banjo' size fretwire for a more woody, less metallic tone, smoother glissandos and a faster feel. Nut: 42mm Pickups: Dingwall FD- 3N which feature Neodymium magnets offering high output and a smooth but aggressive tone. Electronics: 3-band Darkglass active pre-amp (low, lo-mid & hi-mid) with an Active/Passive toggle switch. Master Volume & 4 position Rotary pickup selector offering: 1. Bridge soloed, 2. Bridge/Neck in parallel, 3. Bridge/Neck in series, 4. Neck soloed. Hardware: Smoked chrome. Custom bridge/saddle system for solid performance and great tone featuring a custom riser system to provide increased range of action adjustability. Offset positioning to improve tension across the strings and a more piano-like low end. Colour/Finish: Mopar Purple Metallic (polyester base topped with polyurethane colour & top coats) Pickguard: Carbon Fibre print Condition is literally 'as new/shop'. Any perceived marks in photos are reflections etc. I haven't played it outside the house and it has barely been played even inside! Check out the numerous reviews and YouTube demos etc - this bass really is a MONSTER!! As such, I'm looking for a VERY fair *SOLD* cash/bank transfer or possibly Paypal (buyer pays fees). I would really prefer a UK sale but I may ship to Europe. Bass can be collected from Guildford area, we can meet in the SE area for petrol/train cost or it can be couriered for approx £40 (tbc). NO trades wanted (unless you have a rare Spector X shape) Please see my extensive positive feedback (link in signature below) for assurance of a clean, honest, trouble free transaction.

Yuck.... I wonder if they will sound sterile/just be the 'flavour of the month' and then turn up in their droves on the used market within a year.... like their amps....
-
I'm sure it'll be fine. Korg have worked very closely with Stuart for the last 4 years and have distributed them well. Stuart & PJ are very proud of their brand and I'm sure have done due diligence before completing any deal. Stuart deserves his retirement time - I just hope PJ gets to keep a longer term role in guiding the company... Who knows, it may make some models more affordable!?!

Is this like "Youth-Hostelling with Chris Eubank"? 😂 (copyright Alan Partridge)

For me, Spectors are a fantastic tool of many musical trades. They feel supremely comfortable and ergonomic, have a wide tonal palette and can suit almost any musical situation. If you like a P sound then you will find it here... with extra authority, plus the ability to add extra sparkle or depth with the active EMGs/preamp. If you prefer a more nasal, funky honk - it's here with the solo'd J pickup. If you like a tight rock tone then both pickups full on will have you cutting through the mix. The bass and treble controls can give a huge choice from dub to hi-fi click too... A typical EuroLX will be in the region of 9lbs of weight so not light, but not old school heavy either. There may be a forum member here in the Greater Manchester area who you can meet with to try one? The other great thing about Spector is the customer support and relations, with PJ (Head of Artist Relations) & Stuart Spector himself both being available online/on the phone to their players! There is also a fantastic Facebook group of players (Spector Bass Nation) who are hugely supportive and friendly who help each other out too - we even have top 'name' players in our group! It sounds twee, but Spector players really are a 'family' of sorts....

Thank you. I have been known to own a bass or two (or seventy).... lol!
