  1. Very nice
  2. Yup, always found that to be the case with the folks at Ashdown
  3. That’s awesome, and The Arena is a great stage, certainly one of the best sounding (Club Casbah being the other imo), hope you all have a great one @Leonard Smalls
  4. It’s on the suggested settings, on all of them the Master is set on full. It seems a strange way to use it but when I had one I did it this way and never had any problems with volume.
  5. Ampeg advise to have the Master Volume on full then use Gain for the volume required. Additionally if not using the graphic for tone shaping engage it and boost the slider on the right hand side. Start with Bass/Mid/Treble at midday, fully anticlockwise is cutting them.
  6. I’ve had similar, people who’ve watched the band all night ask me if I go to see them a lot. I must be instantly forgettable.
  7. I was a bit undecided re the various choices of Mustangs out there, in the end I went for the JMJ due to both neck width but also thought if going Mustang get one with Mustang pickups rather than Precision pickups.
  8. Def helps the band imo, but then that`s me coming from a punk background where football-terrace backing vox were the thing. If doing covers I generally go with were there any on the recording or does the lead singer need help on a chorus, be it to lift the song further or did the original have the lead singer doing a harmony as well as the main line.
  9. I think if all of the other instruments are going through the PA then one cab and DI, if it`s (intended) only vocals and a kick-drum presence in the PA then another cab as well for a greater depth of sound.
  10. Multiple options - well it took me multiple attempts to even get this up & running I`m afraid (not the best at techlife)
  11. Gotta be electrical I suppose
  12. For those who’ve had to use a backup bass, why? I’ve started off with electrical fault - tho the backup was in fact a borrowed bass.
  13. Yep, follow the singer, I’ve seen band do otherwise and it ends up as a gangfurk.
  14. That`s a darn fine rig, bet it sounds immense
  15. Def
  16. Looks great
  17. Car stereos for goalposts?
  18. Well the name isn’t a clue, not mods and not from Sleaford.
  19. Got to be the psychedelic given the band name, I’d keep the rest of the bass standard tho.
  20. Definitely, in my last band to have consistency in sound I used a Sansamp with my ABM600 (or whatever other rig I was playing through) all the time, it was only in my current classic rock band that I really used the ABM600 on its own and was knocked out by how good it is. Sadly I’ve had to move mine on now but it will I’m sure forever be my favourite amp. I just wish Ashdown would do an ABM preamp-pedal/DI.
  21. Moving Pictures, a Rush tribute, in The Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes. I’m not that familiar with Rush’s material but what a night, they were incredible and from what I’ve seen online I’d have been hard pushed to tell one band from the other by sound alone, amazing musicianship. Big thumbs up to The Craufurd as well, they’ve really grown the venue over the last 10 or so years, get some very good bands there now.
  22. I’m pretty much the same, if the criteria to see bands was leaping about and waving arms in the air then I’d be barred from every venue in the country.
  23. In my last band we - well the lead singer - had an amazing amount of contacts established as much through chatting to people at other bands gigs as chatting to them after our gigs. We were easy to work with, professional in approach and never let anyone down so the contact list grew favourably as a result. If we’d been the same band but prima donnas, always late & cancelling would we have done so much, I doubt it.
