  1. That looks to be a good gig, great supports too. If my back was able to do a standing all day gig I`d def look to go to that one.
  2. That was a huge factor in my getting a Fender Rumble 800 210 combo. At 13kg it’s the same weight as one of my Ashdown 210 cabs (of which I have two). So as well as reducing the weight (and number) of the large-ish items I need to carry I now don’t need to carry an amp head & speaker leads, plus the inevitable bending over plugging them all in, just combo & mains lead, much less stress on the back.
  3. Best range Fender did imo, this is a great price too
  4. I’m the same, voice doesn’t have enough character to do lead vocals but can harmonise and double up well with the lead.
  5. @Rayman I was similar. Virtually all my fave bassists played Precisions - Burnel, Foxton, Matlock, Simenon, Deacon - and for years I tried to get the sound I wanted from various different types/brands of bass. Then I bought a Precision and suddenly there was the sound.
  6. I`d use the tone control on my bass for this, set the punk sound to full on tone, then back off as needed for the dub/reggae.
  7. I know how I want to sound for each of my bands, although all slightly different invariably it`s a permutation of scooping mids and adding highs so nothing drastic. What I have found is that when I get an onstage sound I like with an unfamiliar amp I then back off the bass/lows a notch on the dial, it might not make the onstage sound as pleasing but I find it then fits in the mix better.
  8. Well you don`t see many of that range up for sale, which is a pretty good indicator of how good they are. Congrats on a good bass, in the best colour scheme.
  9. Steven Seagal is a very tough man, so he can do what he wants!
  10. I’ve both and would say that the JMJ has a thicker chunkier tone with more mids, similar to a Precision, whereas the MIJ is more Jazz like, lower lows and crisper highs.
  11. The neck width on the USA is very much like the JMJ.
  12. Tie ‘em to the back of the pickup truck and drag ‘em round town for a while!
  13. I’ll be first - Fender V3 Rumble combo.
  14. I was similar when in Knock Off, only used the 410 & 210 on a couple of occasions, the 410 being more than enough and as it was on wheels easier to shift than the 210.
  15. My preference is as @Leonard Smalls says, you get great options that way, but my back agrees much more with @Downunderwonder - and this is what I have gone for.
  16. I think of that tone being a pretty much flat Precision pickup, maybe some form of slight boost around 800 - 1000.
  17. As Steve Jones from The Sex Pistols said, you don’t have to be best mates in a band any more than if in a football team, you still pass the ball to the best placed player even if you don’t get on with them.
  18. Nice one, have to admit I had my eyes on these when gigging, look to really fit the bill
  19. Apparently Johnny Marr had a bit of a scare this week with UPS and his guitars.
  20. Great idea
  21. Great set list @lozkerr
  22. Great little amps, had one years ago and in a glam/sleaze rock band used it at rehearsals on rhythm guitar duties to make things easier than carrying full amp/head set up, worked surprisingly well, and connected up to a 412 made a wonderful sound.
  23. Wishing Well - Free A great song, as is usual with 70s classic rock more to it than would initially be thought.
  24. PSA - Peach Guitars have a charcoal version at 8lbs5oz.
  25. Thinking about similar, I’m now teetotal (for 18 years) yet in one of my bands we have a song called Football Beer & Punk Rock, maybe I should no longer be playing it as I no longer partake in beer.
