  1. Only having to go three times a night, luxury, pure luxury...................
  2. I know flats last a long time but that’s getting a bit much. Darn good strings tho, just scored a set off here at a much better price 😀
  3. Looks great, and I think those eq points are pretty well thought out, maybe treble a bit high but imo all a fair bit more useable than how they used to be. The stock Markbass sound is one that always seems to fit nicely in a mix.
  4. Or if you’re only going to be playing the one bass but a Precision & swap the necks?
  5. Sounds fairly typical, I just wonder why, when they can hear it themselves, that they think it sounds ok. I’m sure Ruts were good though, always put on a good show and are decent chaps, Leigh especially.
  6. Luckily I’ve not seen this type of behaviour at Rebellion. Probably a combination of it both being indoors and punks & skins being just that little bit more cultured & civilised.
  7. I always associate JD with the natural Precision
  8. I had a Nemesis 410 cab, really light, great sound.
  9. As a matter of interest @la bam, what’s the tribute?
  10. Get stacked knobs so only two knobs rather than three, and get a black control plate made. From a distance it will look more in keeping with the Precision especially if you have the knobs to be where the bridge pickup volume & tone knobs would be on a standard Jazz plate. I wonder if our very own KiOgon could help out on some of this.
  11. Just watching Jeff Lynnes ELO at Wembley again - love this show.
  12. If I recall correctly Fender tuners are something like 19:1 in comparison to Hipshots which are about 26:1 - I read this stuff a while back so numbers might be a bit off, but I did replace the stock Fenders on a Mex Precision with Hipshots which are much smoother.

That’s nice Clarky, classic colour scheme
  14. It’s only playing small venues that stops me doing exactly the same…….
  15. I have to admit I`ve considered that Pete - I had one a couple of years back and asked our very own Gary Mac if he could swap out the frets for medium jumbos as per my others and he said he could easily enough, but I then thinned the herd back so never got round to it. With this one I`ve similarly considered it, but I`ve just got too many basses - I`ve been through a "buy many to find the right ones" kinda thing. I`ve got there now so am just selling off the ones that didn`t make the grade so to speak.
  16. Yes I`ve got - and am selling - a US Professional, it`s the tall frets that I`m not keen on as well, other than that a really nice bass but those frets........
  17. Used to be @AndyTravis, but recently I`ve gone back to my rosewood roots, thanks for the heads-up tho
  18. Definitely, they might not be the most refined of basses but a good old P-Bass will work nicely for many/most genres.
  19. Me too, tort on basses, pineapple on pizza, things that are right & proper in life.
  20. Tonerider P is a great pickup, sounds very much like the Fender CS62s I have in my US Fenders, putting one in my backup bass this weekend - via a KiOgon loom as my soldering skills are non-existent. Two great recommendations there chaps.
  21. Range is between 21 to about 27. All great "kids" but they all seem so mature & sensible, much more than me anyway. Which thinking about it isn`t that much of an achievement.
  22. Heretic, burn him!!!!!!!!
  23. I’d look at a Vintage if possible. If you like maple fretboards the Tony Butler Sig, if not just the regular ones. They do sometimes come up used on the bay, but new will still be cheaper than a used Mex Fender. The Tony Butler Sig which I had was incredibly good quality, played well & sounded great. I thought I’d need to upgrade the pickup to get it sounding near to my US Precision with CS62s but didn’t need to at all.
