  1. Have you tried pushing the Mute switch in/out, just in case that`s sticking? If it`s not that give Ashdown a call, Dave Green is pretty good at determining faults by what`s described to him.
  2. Not tried to work Kid out but Back On The Chaingang is def one of my faves to play.
  3. Adding in the same cab again and keeping all eq the same in most cases sounds like a big addition on low end in my experience, as quite simply it’s doubling the sound. It makes it twice as big so it seems that there’s more low end.
  4. Not sure about now but my last band (I left 3 years ago) used to sell a lot of CDs. I suppose it can depend on genre and age of the associated fan base.
  5. In my last band we charged £8, dunno if price has gone up as I left 3 years ago. We used to sell a fair bit, and even back when we started in 2014 there were bands selling theirs at £10 or more. I always thought less than a tenner, it’s that subliminal message of getting change from a note, even if it’s only £1.
  6. Well as long as you can def get the case in the cabin then I’d go Mono M80 Double. They’re not that much bigger than the single version, very good protection. If you need storage for pedals you can get a Tick to attach to it, put that in with your regular luggage til time for the gigs.
  7. Sadly it has to go, although this rig is far from heavyweight I need less & lighter still
  8. Pump it Up is one of the best bass lines to play, really enjoyable and a great groove
  9. Michael Poulsen of Volbeat has a pretty impressive vocal ability.
  10. My only thoughts are that I have several Precisions and that all the ones with maple fretboards sound brighter than their rosewood colleagues. They’re all strung with the same strings, and most of them are the same range (2013-16) so have same dimensions, hardware, pickups, electrics. Same goes for my two Jazzes, maple being toppier. Now would I be able to differentiate this in a mix stating maple or rosewood, no, not a chance. But play me a tape of me playing one type then another and I’d be able to tell which one was which. Doubt I’d be able to do it with another players basses.
  11. I used to use 50-110 for standard E tuning so I’m sure they’ll be ok. The Sixxster isn’t known for flashy all over the place basslines anyway so he’s probably not that worried about tension.
  12. Nothing so exotic I’m afraid, one for gigging, one for home use (and as a backup to the gigger).
  13. Whichever one is lighter will be gigged so will keep the white, the home use one will indeed get a black scratchplate.
  14. Cooking doesn’t get any tougher than this
  15. Black - I like the blue but OCD dictates all instruments shall be black
  16. Def as Matt says above, Hiscox. As well as offering the most protection aside from super-duper expensive flight cases, being shaped rather than oblong they are much easier to cart about. I’ve used my Hiscox cases for flying gigs and never had a worry about the safety of the bass inside.
  17. Makes a good album name as well
  18. I got one - a Palmer I think - from Gear4Music
  19. Same for me
  20. This is the reason why the classic rock band I`m in could never gig, the drummers kit is pretty much bigger than every pub-sized venues stage area that I`ve played in covers bands. Add to that bass, guitar and keys and we`d take up a fair bit of room.
  21. Sorry, re-reading that I didn`t put it brilliantly, I meant The 100 Club has history but is still only a regular 400 capacity venue. Still, plenty of history for Rock City too, one of my fave live albums, All Those Wasted Years by Hanoi Rocks was recorded there, one of the main reasons why I was so pleased to get the opportunity to play there (and which also really irritated a friend of mine, whose opinion was "only real bands play there").
