  1. I’m out I’m afraid
  2. No matter whether someone who knows how to set up a compressor or I (who doesn’t) put one in my signal chain to me it never sounds as good as when it isn’t there. But that’s live, in the studio it always makes it sound better in the mix.
  3. Loving my Sandberg TT Superlight, have now used it in both my classic rock band and my street punk band, radically different sounds for each and it delivers for both really well. And being a Superlight it’s so easy on my back & shoulders too.
  4. Just got in from a Knock Off rehearsal. Used my the Sandberg as back really playing up at the moment. And very well it did too, no matter what I’m playing this bass just adapts so well.
  5. Just got in from a Knock Off rehearsal. Used my new (to me) Sandberg TT Superlight as back really playing up at the moment. And very well it did too, no matter what I’m playing this bass just adapts so well. Only problem is as it’s still quite warm, and we play quite hard I am now very smelly. Yuck!
  6. A mate of mine still curses said Seattle band to this day for stopping him becoming famous. They didn’t btw.
  7. Yeah the time I left a band through "not feeling it" was more due to the drive to their rehearsal rooms. In summer it was 45 mins through country lanes, a very nice drive in fact, but I knew once it was winter I`d get the hump with it in the rain and the dark with no lighting, so better to walk now. They understood, I stayed on til they got a replacement and played the first gig the band did, which was a great laugh.
  8. Praise indeed, thanks very much, not sure I`d be up to it now mind...................
  9. Ah, in my one and only foray into the World Of Five I had a US Precision, did this and it did seems to tighten the B up a bit - did it cos I always use them on the A to stop pesky rattle and that always seems a tad tighter afterwards too.
  10. Yep great basses made in that period.
  11. If getting a US Fender 5 string then a Fender Stealth String Retainer on the B tightens it up a bit. Easy to fit, requires no permanent changes, just undo the nut on the tuning peg, take off the washer, put on the retainer, put the nut back on.
  12. I had to do this a few years back, I did agree to stay around til they found a replacement which I thought was the decent thing to do.

    NBD 🙄

    Very nice
  14. Ah, that`s the EVO-1 version, apologies for leading you up the path so to speak, mines the EVO-2, thought they all has the headphone switch.
  15. That`s not good at all, bit surprised at G4M acting so shoddily. Re the amp itself, there`s a small headphones on/off switch on the back, have you seen/tried that, I ask as it`s caught me out numerous times.
  16. Yes good choice, the RM amps are unsung heroes imo.
  17. The one at our rehearsal was a soft rock song, the guy just said what he wanted, what instruments/tempo/type of singer, and it did it. Re the clip above, it’s not the type of music I listen to so I couldn’t say whether AI or not, or if it is AI it’s been done well.
  18. I can’t view FB as not a member, but chap who works at our rehearsal studio played us a song which was excellent, he just said to AI what he wanted and it did it exactly. Worrying imo
  19. Now we’re moving away from musical equipment in general: Thanking. Yes, thanking. Singers that thank everyone and everything in between every darn song. My thanks are when you shut this shyte up and just play some songs.
  20. Thread resurrection time! Just watching Queen at Wembley on Sky Arts, and it’s great how when Brian May is soloing the songs don’t drop. I think this down to obviously good song arrangements with bass & drums really working well, but the bass tone as well, it not being particularly low down bassy or overly toppy but that more mid-focused sound you get from flats and a Precision.
  21. Unless you fancy a change of sound given you already had a Peavey I’d go for the Mkii 600, you’ll know pretty much what you’re going to get and what to work with.
  22. Appears similar to Sandberg, it looks like there’s a screw on the back of the blocks just underneath the strings, if it works the same as Sandberg tightening this extends two locker bars either side of the block, so to adjust loosen this, then physically tap the block in the direction required.
  23. Just watching Chappell Roan at Reading, don’t know any of the material but very enjoyable, great to see such a good artist/band.
  24. Is the most honest Basschat answer
