I put a set of 75mm castors on my old ABM410 so aside from in/out of car and up stairs it was really easy to move about. Sadly I don’t live in the ground floor and 35kg is too much for me nowadays.

Another ACS user here, I got the 17db ones as they are advertised as having the most neutral reduction, and they’re great, it’s like playing in a band but with CD quality sound.

I’m sure the Punk Police would have their opinions as to whether Bob & Co were punk or not. As has been said it’s strange that a movement which came from the idea of having no rules has become - for some - so regimented.

Sadly I’ve not used mine in a band situation yet, but at home volumes my impressions are they sound pretty much like the regular ABM cabs, maybe a little tighter sounding, as I did find that my ABM410 had a fair amount of low end. This could be due to a few factors such as sealed v ported or just due to size of the cabs themselves. I’ll have to take them to band practice at some point but as the rehearsal room has an 810 in it that does make life easier and influences my natural laziness.

I’d say as it sounds great pair it with the same again bc and it will sound doubly great.

Part of my youth, this song. Am not a particular Rats fan but this takes me back to Top of The Pops when the charts and the weeks number one seemed to mean something.

Great bassline too

This really needs an “astounded emoji” Or a button so that Uncle Albert from Only Fools & Horses can do his shocked face.

In house Pyros, awesome

It’s funny how the same instruments can vary so much in this respect, I had a 78 Precision in yellowing Oly White/Rosewood which weighed 10.5lbs, a mate of mine had the exact same bass/year of manufacture, 13.5lbs.

Insanely powerful amps, with a really nice core tone. Take pedals really well too, congrats.

Looks really nice, am not usually a fan of black hardware but it really suits that bass and looks great on it.- 40 replies

Had a few listens to Absurd now and it’s growing on me. Def more Chinese Democracy than Appetite but I think I prefer it to a good deal of the Illusion material.

I’m not sure our paths ever crossed on here but irrespective, another low-ended sadly passes, RIP.

Person applies for job. At the interview states they won’t follow company procedures & rules. Door.

Now Sold One Mexican made Fender Telecaster Deluxe. Fenders way of tapping into Les Paul territory with two humbuckers, each with volume & tone controls, and a 3-way pickup selector. All works as it should, no immovable/sheared screws. Gas buckle rash on the back and a small chip in the paintwork, I’ve photographed this with a 5p coin next to it to illustrate the size of the chip.

That’s how they say it in New York isn’t it?

If I were auditioning for an originals band it’s play what is written to get the job. What happens afterwards in regards to existing material is down to discussion if warranted. What happens when writing new material for the band re the bass, well that’s my job though am always open to creative input, I’m not too old to learn. But to get the job, play what’s been given. A big indicator of if someone can fit in in my opinion, starting off by refusing to play established lines when capable of doing so wouldn’t endear someone to me. I’d just think bother on the way every day.

Many comments about no Izzy, and I agree with them, but also no Steven Adler has a big impact on their sound. His style of drumming by far suited the material better than a straightforward heavy rock drummer. For me those two really helped Guns stand out a bit more from the pack. I don’t mind this new song, and liked some of Chinese Democracy but for me Appetite and Spaghetti are the only Guns albums I like start to finish.

Having been a “dinosaur” re sound for most of my playing life I’ve recently started wearing ACS earplugs as our drummer is so loud. The difference a much quieter backline makes is pretty astounding, every instrument is able to be heard clearly, enabling a much better understanding of what is going on. Great for rehearsals, I’m sure it would be great for gigs but IMO it would surely benefit songwriting at rehearsals as instead of getting to the studio and then finely tuning material it would already be done. So I’m sure that this way of playing - providing the audience get a good sound - has to be the way forwards.
