  1. Bought a Hipshot BT12 Extender online Tuesday, arrived yesterday. Cant do much better than that. Competitive price too, I’ve been waiting on places to get these in stock for a while and Bass Direct were much better than anywhere else worldwide that I could find, in stock or not.
  2. It looks to me like the increased workload that COVID has caused has made them realise that they have too much work for their existing networks, so in anticipation of making errors are trying all sorts to wriggle out of liability.
  3. Now sold - Fender A String Retainer up for grabs. Fits US Fenders from 2008 onwards (might fit earlier but no experience of this). Holds the A string down on the tuning peg maintaining a better angle and tuning stability. £12 including delivery in the UK
  4. Now sold One Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Precision Pickup up for grabs. Ideal for rock & punk, though not exclusively for those genres. £60 gets it to your door in the UK.
  5. Well it’s not the end of my Jazz Bass era, but I will be offloading one as I’ve pretty much determined which basses I’m keeping/moving on. Sadly my US Professional Jazz in black/rosewood (with Custom Shop 62 pickups) I think is going to be one of the casualties (along with its almost twin Precision).
  6. I’ve over-bought something rotten in the last year, so have a ton of stuff to move on. It’s been fun though, so at present for me it’s Anti-GAS (aside from I still want an electro-acoustic guitar).
  7. I’ve had the same set up, cab wise, and it was very very very good, sounded great and so easy to cart about, glwts though I don’t think you’ll need much, this is a cracker.
  8. That’s pretty much the worst excuse for trying to stiff a customer for extra money that I’ve ever heard. In what possible way can they incur extra costs as a result of that.
  9. Congrats, I’d been looking at that and resisting as best I could.
  10. They’re nice cabs, I’ve had 210s, 112, 115 & 410. For ease of use two of the 210/112/115s make a great rig. At the time I had mine I also had Ashdown ABM cabs, the RMs aren’t voiced quite as deep but have a well balanced sound - I’m basing this on my two 210s btw, in comparison to my ABM410. I was happy gigging either set-up.
  11. Now sold One of the above up for grabs, in very good condition. We all know how good these are and what they do so no point in me going through it all, however being the v2 this has adjustable mids at 500Hz & 1000Hz, and you can adjust the bass frequency at either 40Hz or 80Hz making it more flexible than the v1. Price includes delivery in the UK.
  12. Agree, I saw them perform their original material in 2019 at Rebellion and was very impressed. And it gave the guitarist a break from all those down strokes which I’m sure she was grateful for, plus it also allowed her to show how good a guitarist she really is
  13. Possibly the angle on the A string to the tuning peg from the nut isn’t great enough. Try pressing down on the string between the nut and the tuning peg and plucking the open string. If it rattles, fret at the first fret and pluck it again, if it doesn’t rattle that suggests either loose in the nut or the angle. I always have 3 windings on the tuning peg to safeguard against the angle/rattle thing.
  14. I was going to suggest The Ramonas, great band and great girls as well, have done a good few gigs with them.
  15. I think certain amps work better with certain basses, and in certain genres, they just seem to pair better and Ashdown for rock seems to just work.
  16. For some reason I feel really let down by that.
  17. Well back in the Gen2 days the Midget & Compact paired very well together, so I think I’d be tempted to do SC & SM, given Alex’s comments about the SC having broadly the same sound, just with bigger lows/lack of tweeter.
  18. It may be wise to contact Alex directly and put this to him, he’s great at asking the right questions about your existing gear in order to recommend the right product. Often that may well be the less expensive option, which IMO is the sign of a good business and great customer service.
  19. The Markbass sound imo works really well with Precision type basses, and although it’s a clean sound it is a warm clean, not hi-fi at all, just a really nice warm presence in the mix. That said the Rumble imo is able to do more, due to having the drive facility. Additionally being a 2x10 I’d expect it to have a larger presence in the mix, though the CMD isn’t a slouch in that area. I think in the same position I’d go Rumble for the greater versatility.
  20. Is this one of those little known reactions to the vaccine that we’ve been reading about?
  21. I had this with DPD, asking questions and getting words back that did anything other than answer what I’d asked. After a bit of this I typed “are you f..king reading what I’ve asked” and from them on things seemed to get better. Maybe it was a human I was exchanging pleasantries with, or maybe once you get annoyed it signals something and humans take over. Whatever, I’ve seen worse avoidance of answering points on Question Time.
  22. Went at £390, not bad considering both how good they are and how difficult to get hold of nowadays
  23. Ah, The Adelphi, brings back some find memories that does.
