  1. Further on from my earlier post, my old band are still writing material and are looking at buying recording equipment so as to get stuff worked on properly before going into the studio. I suppose it’s all down to the individuals at the end of the day, some see and take an opportunity to work further, which I dare say is more likely in an originals band as there’s more of a goal there.
  2. Sold One set of Squier VM77 Jazz pickups £25 including postage in UK.
  3. Sold One set of Fender V-Mod Pickups taken from my US Professional Jazz. £60 including postage in UK. I’ll also include the pots, cap & jack.
  4. Now sold - Genuine minty green Fender Scratchplate taken from US Professional Jazz & Precision basses: 1 x Jazz - £30 1 x Precision - £35 Price included delivery in UK
  5. Sold One Pedaltrain Metro 24 pedalboard & carry case with some extra Velcro up for grabs, link to product spec as below: https://pedaltrain.com/products/pt-m24-sc Price includes delivery in UK
  6. Sold One Broughton Low/Hi Pass Filter in pretty much brand new condition. These are pretty difficult to get hold of as they get made in batches and sell out pretty quickly, plus you have to get them shipped in from Canada. Links to product page as below: https://www.broughtonaudio.com/product-page/low-high-pass-filter Price included delivery in UK
  7. Sold One Rothwell Love Squeeze, in good condition. Said to be the compressor for those who don’t like compression. Pretty decent review from Ovnilab (bass compression guru) as below: http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/rothwell.shtml Price includes delivery in the UK
  8. My US 2015 Fender Precision. I’ve done so much with that bass, recorded the last three albums, did my first Rebellion Festivals, first European Tours. It has so much sentimental value that I won’t gig it or take it out of the house as I’d be heartbroken if it got nicked. Here it is (and me) in action at Rebellion:
  9. It is strange that when the masses are angry about something their way to make it right is destroying other hard working people property, not to mention the inevitable stolen trainers & widescreen TVs that come with that. Poll tax, police brutality, you name it a new pair of Nikes and a 56 incher makes it all better.
  10. It sounds to me like a problem, I have an Ashdown 15 watt combo with an eight inch integral speaker and with all eq at noon it’s too loud to have on max volume with a passive Jazz bass, wouldn’t be considerate of my neighbours. It’s in my spare room, approx 10ft x 10ft.
  11. Always had good experiences when visiting Wunjos. A bit meh re BD, no attitude or anything, in fact nothing at all, no acknowledgement or can I help you which in some - make that many - respects is better than over eager pushy salespeople, but given they’re a bit off the beaten track I’d have thought you’re only there for a specific reason, rather than just passing through and popping in to pass time.
  12. For me the main issue that I’ve found is the not being able to return to the Romford branch, a situation that hasn’t been brought about by the B word.
  13. Re Darkglass, not sure about the pedals but the bassist of The Cockney Rejects uses one of their amps and doesn’t get the typical metal tone at all, more like a regular bass amp sound so I’d assume the same can be achieved with the pedals.
  14. I’m the same, my 2015 US Precision is the bass I feel most comfortable and familiar with, unfortunately the Precision sound is a bit too full for my current band so it’s taking a back seat at present.
  15. I’ve practiced a lot more. A lot of this is to do with having a new band/project so want to keep on top of the much more difficult material that we play, but I’ve also learned a fair few songs that I’ve always liked but either never had the time to learn or didn’t have the confidence to have a go at. Luckily as the material for the new band is more complex it’s given me more faith in my abilities and so far I’ve been ok with them. So yes, these lockdowns have helped me become a better bassist.
  16. Marshall MB, Ampeg BA, Fender Rumble, Ashdown After 8, all good amps that are plenty enough for home use.
  17. Great idea Paul, the addition of Sky Arts to Freeview has been great, done really good programmes in there, and not just music, the hour long getting to know actors shows are excellent too.
  18. That’s a great idea @crawford, I’ve been chopping & changing trying to work out which bass to use in my current project, and I think following the above will get me there, all but the one I think is best for it in cases out of the way and just concentrate on really getting to grips with just the one rather than alternating between four.
  19. In general I’ve had decent service from them, one slight hiccup but overall it won’t stop me from using them again. I agree with the sentiments that we as bassists are better off with a dedicated outlet like BD.
  20. Great rock sounds, reminded me a lot of Black Stone Cherry, hopefully when normal life returns I’ll be able to get to one of your gigs.
  21. Thus is one of the many reasons why I’ve never married or been in a long term relationship, I’d find it very difficult to accept someone attempting to tell me what I couldn’t spend the money that I get up and go to work for on.
  22. I understand where you’re coming from Mick, I’ve found the right Precisions & Jazzes for me but simply can’t find the right PJ configuration bass. I’m thinking of just putting in a J pickup in one of my Precisions as this seems to the only way I’ll get the exact spec that I’m after.
  23. Is this your own material @bagsieblue as I really like it.
