  1. Uber bargain, these are seriously great amps, I gigged one in a heavy rock band and it just worked perfectly.
  2. As per @la bams post, the ABM600 is def the best amp I’ve ever had, incredibly flexible and powerful, and at 13kg still easy enough to cart about. I can get the same sound that I want from my RM500, and in rehearsals or small venues there’s not that much difference between them, however get on a very big stage and the ABM has a greater weight & presence to the sound. I’ll never tire of recommending Ashdown gear, especially the ABM600, unless looking for modern crystal clear highs it’s capable of virtually anything a bassist would want and also capable of a commanding presence on those big stages.
  3. Def, I have home-use basses and band-use basses. I’ll still play the band-use ones at home but the home-use ones are strictly that (well recording as well maybe but no situations where they could get stolen). I could easily cut back on numbers but it’s my hobby and I don’t really spend money on anything else.
  4. The Ashdown will be fine with a Precision, that’s what I have as my home set up and no issues at all.
  5. I think it’s entirely reasonable. Essentially a 610 that is easily portable enough for one person, and enough for pretty much any venue I’d suspect.
  6. Working class man and anti government (irrespective of which one, just government in general) feature highly on the punk & Oi scene, as does football.
  7. It is a strange one isn’t it, and when we listen to isolated bass lines which sounded clear and rounded in the mix - hence us having wanted those clear tones - they’re driven/distorted and often situated in clank city.
  8. Sounds great, nice playing too, I’ve just been learning that song, they had to have been on serious drugs back then, way too complicated and far too many timing changes! Additionally I noticed a very Stranglers/Nice & Sleazy inspiring riff in one of the breakdown parts.
  9. For the music mentioned I’d think that the Bruce Thomas would fit the bill slightly better.
  10. The best 115 cab I’ve had was a Peavey that had a Black Widow speaker. Just that cab and my Trace Elliot AH300 was plenty enough to fill a venue with bass, the kind you felt as well as heard. At the time living on a second floor flat with a 90lb cab and no lifts in my 30s it was manageable, wouldn’t be anywhere near capable of that now.
  11. Definitely, Motley Crue do this very well on their song Wild Side, in the break it drops to drums and guitar, when the bass comes back in the power and depth to the track that it adds is amazing.
  12. I’m out, I had a Fender US Professional Jazz that I was going to move on but have decided not to. Now that’s not a purchase, but deciding to change the pickups and scratch plate on it is 😬
  13. Amen to that, been there and it’s not fun - and why is it that no matter which Travelodge the doors always open the wrong way for loading into the hotel at 2am, making it even more awkward?
  14. That is an incredible price, has to be bargain of the year so far!
  15. Now sold One set of V-Mods taken from my US Professional Precision, As per the pics the pots, capacitor & jack are all attached, just solder in your ground wire and ready to go. Price includes delivery in the UK
  16. Now sold The Noir version, in case you like all your pedals to be dark. Pretty hard to get hold of, these don’t come up very often. Price includes delivery in the UK
  17. Now sold One VTDI in good condition, comes in the Tech21 tin and with manual. Price includes delivery in the UK
  18. Given the current situation I wonder how many courier companies will levy incorrect charges, be that unknowingly on their part, or knowingly hoping the customer won’t make enquiries.
  19. I know where you’re coming from, that’s why I went down the two x ABM NEO 210s, each weighs 37lbs and due the diagonal formation stand taller than a regular 410, so easier to hear on stage (and looks better too imo).
  20. I had an SVT410HE & 210HE set up. Paired with an SVT3-PRO it sounded great, but just as I bought it all my band split up, so after a while I sold it all and went lightweight (for a while).
