  1. I always thought that the end of Way on Down by Elvis Presley was pretty much there.
  2. A band I know drove through Switzerland - didn’t play there mind - but were still stopped and had to pay some form of taxation (I think it was to do with their merch). To any bands intending on playing Europe, irrespective of political thoughts/leanings it’s best to do your homework and get it right, otherwise it will cost you.
  3. I never found the tweeter a problem on the CMD121P, tho when I also connected the NY121 I did set the tweeter to the off position on that.
  4. Not sure if he made his political leanings clear or not in that............
  5. Agree, I went and bought another one yesterday, I just missed my ABM600 too much. It has so much flexibility and yes, that 100hz slider has much more control over the bottom end. Similarly I find that the 5Khz slider has more effect on the top end than the actual treble knob. Just waiting for Black Friday or Xmas sales for the Neo cabs to come down a bit, will be nice to have an ABM set up that I can carry easily.
  6. I’ve found recently that learning material for my new band that I normally wouldn’t have bothered with is actually giving me great pleasure/enjoyment. For a start it’s harder, so my playing is improving, but it’s also helping me to appreciate songs that I previously thought were “alright” whereas I now have a greater respect for them and those that wrote and performed them.
  7. Well I think the turning point was seeing the new ABM NEO cabs, knowing I could have an ABM set up again that I could carry just kept on jiggling away at me.
  8. The notched pots are also on my new ABM600, but weren’t on the old one. I like them too.
  9. Great amps aren’t they, the RMs. I’ve just gone full circle and bought an ABM600 again but am going to keep my RM500 EVO II, not letting it go.
  10. Congrats, def a well kept secret, the MIK Squiers, very decent instruments indeed
  11. I put a set of Elixir Nickels on my Jazz at the start of this year and they’re just starting to lose their zing on the E & A (the ones I use most) now.
  12. I think you’ve hit it with the CMD121P, it nails all of your requirements. Additionally re the part about being able to put another cab underneath for live work, the Markbass NY121 is an exact fit and you then have a very portable modular set up that’s plenty loud.
  13. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody, first time I saw it when it got to the live bit the 10 year old me knew I wanted to be in a band when I got older A-Ha - Take on Me, just a great story line vid The Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant, the nearest I was going to get to see them live (until they reformed in ‘96) Sid Vicious - My Way, the performance, plus the way it was shot was excellent
  14. Although I don’t like rap I thought that the rap band were the best on the show, and someone should really take them on.
  15. Same, a man possessed at that kit was The Moon
  16. Maybe this win means bands playing instruments rather than dancing are going to be “in” again?
  17. That’s a good call, hadn’t thought of that but have now contacted them re my order (not yet had the fitting so hopefully can change colour). I’d gone for the clear ones but thinking about it the neon orange also look pretty difficult to lose so think I’ll go for those. Edit - I also went for the PRO 17s due to the description of them being the most natural sounding. All other ear plugs I’ve tried have really reduced top end. A couple of guys in my band have the 15s and they say they are pretty good but I wanted as flat/natural as possible, just quieter.
  18. Certainly is, my Squier VM77 Jazz, although not as good as my US Fenders is a very good instrument. The quality of the cheaper instruments is amazing nowadays, in comparison to when I started out in the early 80s.
  19. Mick Jagger Def the right voice for The Rolling Stones, but wouldn’t say he was that good a singer.
  20. Bargain! I’ve one of these and it’s the best Class D amp I’ve had, just has so much more depth & weight to the sound than many of the other small amps out there.
  21. The runaway winner at the South East Bass Bash Cab Shootout a few years back. Up against Barefaced, Markbass, Schroeder, Ampeg amongst many the Berg CN212 was the clear winner.
