  1. Buzzcocks & hens
  2. I use a Wenger rucksack to take my stuff to gigs. Plenty of compartments & pockets so it’s easy to keep things separated and not in a big jumbled mess.
  3. With my current band we manage up to about 10 a year, which is fine for me. None require too much travelling, 2hrs tops. I contrast that with my last band which averaged about 50 gigs a year, all over the country and Europe which was way too much for me. Every weekend seemed to be spent either on the M6 or in Easyjet. Was great fun but would never want to do it again.
  4. I’ll be willing to bet that stack sounds awesome
  5. It would be difficult to make it look any less like a Tonehammer, their designers must have worked really hard on that aspect……..
  6. No problems here @neepheid, life happens, won’t ruin my day, I’ve just chosen Fenders with thinner necks 😀
  7. Agree, musical credibility for me is playing well, if audiences enjoy what’s being played that adds more credibility.
  8. Sadly I now have arthritis in my left thumb so wide Precision necks are now beyond me too.
  9. The RH450 is a nice amp. There was a bit of hoo-ha re it’s claimed power being greater than what it actually puts out but having used a few they’re plenty loud. I don’t know about the BQ but I’d be happy to own and use an RH450 as a regular gigging amp.
  10. A very large percentage of my fave music has been played on Fenders, even more specifically on Fender Precisions. Probably why I love them so much. Still wish they do a regular one with reverse pickup tho.
  11. Nice one, glad all sorted and great to see the forum being a place to provide assistance
  12. Let us know how you get on with them
  13. That was the first time I heard it, thought it was a great song (had the soundtrack on cassette back in the 90s).
  14. About 6 months old. I generally get about a year from a set of Elixir rounds.
  15. This reminds me of my years on The Post Office counter, in Nov 1992 in the Luton PO they installed this hideous machine that played carols on repeat. The only salvation from this was that for some reason it was removed at the start of December. Never understood why a machine playing carols was removed at the beginning of the month that Xmas falls in, unless they realised mass murder was imminent.
  16. I`m not surprised, I read in Chas` book that Dave went out at lunchtime and had a few too many, and that whoever it was that was with him was amazed that he then started drinking cans of Miller Lite in order to dilute what he`d already drunk in order to sober up!
  17. I like Barefaced cabs, had a good few of them but I’ve never found that the “this 1x12 is as good as a 4x10” thing worked for me. Their 1x12s sound like very good 1x12s to me, but averagely priced 4x10s put out much more depth of sound in my experience. As such I’d say you’ll get very good quality sound from a Super Compact but not sure if it will match the depth that you get from your two Bergs. The SC will certainly go loud though, BF cabs handle pretty much anything sent their way.
  18. Craufurd is an excellent venue, Jason and his team have really done it up well, I remember it before he took over, was a bit spit & sawdust to say the least.
  19. At present I`m in a non-gigging classic rock band and my fave songs to play are Tarot Woman & Stargazer by Rainbow, Highway Star by Deep Purple, Fool For Your Lovin` by Whitesnake and Dazed & Confused by Led Zep. After years of playing solid/powerful root note punk I relish a bit of spider-finger riffery!
  20. Would a Fender Rumble 200 fit the bill?
  21. In one band I was in the drummer got together with a girl and after our traditional Xmas break he announced that she had told him he didn`t need to be in the band any more as he now had her. The band folded not long after...........
  22. Pretty much the same for me
  23. I’ve only got 2 reissues of music that I already had, Never Mind The Bollocks by The Sex Pistols and Appetite for Destruction by Guns N Roses. Each are mastered differently to the originals, more bass, and re Appetite better separation of the guitars, Izzy left Slash right.
  24. I saw Siouxsie & The Banshees in 85 at Hammersmith Odeon. She had broken her leg, and as it was in a cast did the gig sitting on a chair on stage. No problem with that, but the guitarist and bassist didn’t move at all, in fact they made her with her broken leg look hyper. Musically it was ok but after about 4 songs I decamped to the pub.
  25. Most definitely
