  1. Those were my thoughts too, the gap between them really isn’t a grand. I used mine as my flying/European bass, I left it in Germany for gigs over there and after 3 months locked in its case it was still perfectly in tune.
  2. Well my experience of the regular ABM cabs in comparison to the RM cabs is that they have a lower, deeper sound. Easiest way to describe but is that the RMs get the sort of sound you want to achieve at lower volumes (so smaller venues) whereas you can push the ABMs harder (on bigger stages/venues). I can’t see Ashdown wanting these NEO cabs to stray far from the ABM sound though.
  3. Pretty much the same for me, left my band at the end of last year as gigging & touring all over the place was just becoming too much for me. I wouldn’t say that I’ve enjoyed not gigging, more that I’ve enjoyed feeling well & rested for the first time in a long while.
  4. As above, Ashdown now have lightweight ABM cabs - 210, 112, 115. Really good move methinks. If I were still in a gigging band I’d be looking at these for sure. https://ashdownmusic.com/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=Pro+neo*
  5. I had to learn this earlier on this year and was amazed at how busy it is - you can tell they were all on drugs, writing lines that busy! But seriously I love playing it, I’d never heard the song before but it’s become one of my faves to play.
  6. Agree, great singer, really great guitarist, either support them or really bollix them up, think AC chose the former.
  7. Yep it’s all part of the development as a player - I didn’t find out about intonation until I’d been playing for about 10 years so 2 months in you’ve a head start.
  8. That’s a great Precision sound, it just works so well.
  9. Simple songs, with simple melodies, that brought joy to many around the world. Could be describing a pop band, but no, The Ramones were def a punk band, and one of the best imo as for me punk has always been about the music and image, I wasn’t that fussed on the behaviour and anti-many-things. Re the bass itself, I hope a true collector gets this one, someone in the world of music maybe, rather than someone corporate.
  10. I found the SPB-1 to be lacking in oomph, there was just a massive lack of mids for me, however the STK-J2B I thought was great, although I only used it in conjunction with the Precision pickup in my Aerodyne.
  11. I hope he`s successful in getting it back up & running, The Odds is a great little music venue, and Brett is a decent guy, knows how to run a good music venue.
  12. If talking about genre as oppose to artists then for me it`s Motown.
  13. Really good, and as others have said in such a short space of time.
  14. Not good, not unexpected, but I suppose it does have more than a tad of common sense about it.
  15. You finally got it back Rog! Well done, you’ve mentioned many times how much you wanted that one back, very pleased for you.
  16. Cheers Dan, not doing anything at moment, have a project where me & some mates meet up (prior to lockdown) once a fortnight to play classic rock but it’s not a gigging band, more a social get together.
  17. It was Knock Off, I left at the end of last year sadly.
  18. My 2015 black/black/maple US Fender Precision, no contest. Recorded our last 3 albums on it (two of which were voted 22nd best of the year albums in the punk genre in the years they were released) did my first few Rebellion Festivals and first few European tours with it. Too much sentimental value attached to it to ever move it on. I love all of my basses but that one also plays the best so aside from sentiment it’s my best bass as well.
  19. Not exactly but on a tour I did in ‘91, on the first gig of the tour we pulled up in Barnsley and the driver asked for directions to the venue. And was told “I’m not sure where that is, I’ve never been to Bradford”. Well they are both in the North, and both start with B so he was on the right track...
  20. Or Ashdown, just started their range which got pretty decent reviews in Bass Guitar Mag a couple of issues back.
  21. It must be more secure than those sites that the US have in Eastern Europe that are “off book”!
  22. The Aerodynes are good basses, nice and light and easy to play necks - Japanese Fenders seem to have great necks for some reason. Personal preference I`d go for a non-export model as they have flush-mounted jack sockets rather than Strat-style ones, and fretboard markers.
  23. Re Herrick pickups, not sure which one I have but it’s more scooped sounding and higher powered than my Custom Shop 62s, essentially more modern sounding (but nowhere near like the SD Quarterpounder).
  24. Agree, on one gig where I recklessly took only one of my 6 basses it had a problem with the electrics, leaving me having to borrow one. Lesson learned, take a backup to gigs.
  25. I find if someone were to ask me how so and so song went that we played years ago I might struggle, but if I were to play along with it muscle memory would come to my aid.
