  1. I’ve kept all my gear in the room where I dry my washing for years as living in a 2 bed flat I don’t have the room/choice to do otherwise, it’s not done any of my gear any harm.
  2. That’s nearly as heavy as some people’s whole collections!
  3. Not sure as I’ve seen clips where she swaps with Earl Slick on Ashes, her playing guitar, him on bass.

    Neodymium???

Yep, there comes a point where practicality has to be the first option. I’m not in a gigging band but if I were my Ashdown ABM gear is just that bit too much for me now, luckily my Ashdown RM gear nails it for me on sound as well.
  5. I like plan A, due to three factors: It would look great Option to send lows to 410, highs to 210 I’m selling an ABM600 on here 😁
  6. Yep. I had the BF410 & 210 and it really was a doddle to move it about. Another thing to consider is transporting a 610, maybe fine in our own vehicles but say a gig coincides with car not working/needing repairs, much easier to get a lift/taxi with a lightweight 410 and leave the 210 at home.
  7. Fender Pino Palladino Sig Precision, everything about it - aside from the fact it wasn’t mine - felt right about that bass.
  8. That’s really interesting re pickups, @thebrig, Custom Shop 62s are my fave but if their sound can be found in something else at at least half the price, well game on!
  9. Which when you think about it isn’t that bad, a Mono M80 is near £200. Not that M80s arent good, they are, just different tools for different jobs.
  10. I just love this on the ad: Out of Stock Next Delivery Due: Sunday, 31 May 2020 What does this mean? Now I wonder, what could that possibly mean?
  11. I’ve just read that Rebellion 2020 has been cancelled, but they’ve said to all who have tickets to keep them as they’ll be valid for next year. Shame but as well as social distancing not likely to work in the venue (Winter Gardens, Blackpool) they’ve had bands have to pull out due to travelling from overseas, and punters in the same position. Not to mention that it’s an extra 10,000 people visiting Blackpool and will the towns hotels/B&Bs be open. Shame but makes sense.
  12. I think they were Mick, if it wasn’t this manufacturer it was someone else doing very similar.
  13. I had similar at The London Bass Guitar Show, tho being in my punky 50s it didn’t bother me. Plugged in a bass and played Warhead by The UK Subs whilst the slap mingled into the background. Some of the slap players looked at me as if I was some form of Neanderthal, and disrespectful to their slap time. Yep to both 🤣
  14. I remember when they came out, was quite startling, Tortelvis on vox lol.
  15. There’s something about the original Precision basses, I really like them but always move them on due to knowing I won’t use them in a band setting (even though I have in the past). I really should get past that as now not being in a gigging band my choice of instruments is adapting somewhat. But back on topic, yes the sound is somewhat different to a regular Precision, though not much, and seems to have a magic quality to it that’s difficult to put into words.
  16. One of our songs, This Ain’t No Love Song was played at a distant mates service. We played a farewell gig for him 4 weeks before cancer took him. Still saddens me when I think of it.
  17. Nothing funny or poignant in my choice, just my favourite ever song, Seasons in The Sun by Terry Jacks.
  18. If it fits the song, great, it works exceptionally well - imo - in Ashes to Ashes by Bowie, and This is Not a Love Song by PIL, two artists where slap-bass may not be expected.
  19. Love it, BSR are great, that’s my fave song of theirs and you’ve done it proud, WalMan, thumbs up from me!
  20. I`ve tried them on both a Precision and on a Stingray, wasn1t completely happy with either, though imo worked better on the `Ray, taming it a bit. They just seem to have a real spike somewhere that`s difficult to reduce.
  21. I love those bass coffins - if I were still in a touring band I’d have considered getting one, make so much sense, less bulky cases, both/all instruments on stage and ready to go, plus secure in back of vans etc.
  22. Sounds like it, or a lot of treble/mids on the amp. Great sound however he got it tho, the classic Precision/Ampeg sound (even if now people tell me he used a Status and a Trace Elliot in that gig).
