  1. For me it’s mostly whatever Jam songs were in the charts (Eton Rifles, Tube Station, Going Underground, In The City etc) plus Pump It Up by Elvis Costello & The Attractions, My Sharona by The Knack and Girls & Boys by Blur.
  2. Good call, angled jack at one end definitely
  3. I go for 6metres.
  4. I had a Hartke set up for a while, though none of the items mentioned. I really liked it, great sounds and powerful too.
  5. That’s a good call
  6. Yep, I’ve got that one booked too
  7. I’ve found that my preferred sound is a bunch of 10s all going at the same time. This over the course of owning many variations, and playing through many many variations. The two cabs that weren’t 10s that I really liked were a Marshall VBC412 and an Ashdown ABM215, both sealed cabs I believe.
  8. It certainly typifies the 80s, best or not subjective but def up there
  9. If you put the dimensions up someone may be able to help. I can’t tell if it’s an original Compact or Midget, size will tell all.
  10. Flea Flea Flea Er, Flea I think they might stop there
  11. Prob same with male bassists for the majority of the people on the street. They might know Sting for example but would they know he plays bass?
  12. The Classic P is the widest of the Precision necks at 44mm, pretty much any other will be 42mm or less.
  13. @Telebass has clearly been on the phone to Noel & Ticketmaster and cleaning up as a result
  14. Nice one
  15. Good points Dan, if I were presented with this scenario now, given that I do backing vox I’d have no problem buying my own mic, mic stand, and possibly a monitor as well.
  16. Repairs to these cases is pretty easy, I used Sticks Like Shyt and it worked fine
  17. Same here, until you join a band there’s a lot of mystique about how good people in bands must be. Then you join one and realise that same with anything, accountants, firemen, footballers etc there are different levels, and that once committed that’s the first level.
  18. I have both the single and the dual Mono M80, there’s not that much difference between the two in depth. It really is a lot easier to shift about than the other make I had - which going by the pics at the top of this page I’d think was the Gator.
  19. I’ll mention that to him Rosie, this may well be a diverted career path
  20. Of the those listed the ones with extra plus points for me are Fender Rumble 40v3 - has drive on it Orange Crush 50 - has onboard tuner Person I’d look at the Rumble, being able to blend in some overdrive to the sound is a handy feature to have
  21. I lent a bassist from a band who were supporting us my bass when he had the unfortunate accident of warming up backstage and the bass slipped from his grasp with the lead still connected, and the jack & plug both broke.
  22. Sounds great Dave, Shot in The Dark my fave Ozzy song, just wish I could get my classic rock band to do it.
  23. Those Ashdown 2x15s are great sounding cabs.
  24. I’ve never been a big fan of Oasis, like a lot of their songs and similarly don’t like a lot of their songs. But there seems to be a point where LGs voice takes on a very middy/nasally tone. From what I understand he did have surgery some years back, maybe this is as a result. But it’s no real difference to Axel in Guns N Roses or Vince Neil in Motley Crue, their best days are now behind them, LG joining the gang so to speak. But I did think LGs band sounded great though, his singing itself wasn’t bad, just sadly the current tone of his voice I thought was none too pleasant.
  25. Well the marketplace is slow at the moment
