  1. Good prices indeed, when I got mine (the first time round) I paid those prices for them 2nd hand.
  2. Yeah essentially it was our producer who showed me that, get 100% of the sound you want from your bass & amp, then, with all controls on the BDDI at midday aside from blend, switch it on, then adjust the blend to suit. I’d tried over the years to get the sound solely from the pedal itself, with amp set flat and couldn’t get there, using it this way worked a treat.
  3. Same for me, was really looking forward to it, I hope the proposed September date will go ahead but of course that’s a bit far off at moment to speculate.
  4. Regrettably the CWU Reps, the union that represents Royal Mail do get paid when there’s a strike. The rep stands next to his comrades on the picket line knowing that said comrades have lost a days pay but said rep gets their days lost pay made up by the union. Or at least that’s how it works for the CWU in my workplace, and how it did work when we were owned by Royal Mail Group.
  5. I’ve always found TE cabs to have a sort of spike/accented upper mids. Add that to the eq curve of that TE amp and there’s a lot boosted in areas that Markbass eq can’t do, combined with the top-end roll-off on their cabs.

    NCD

They’re nice cabs, the RM series, congrats.
  7. Well I’ve been umming and aahing over the Spectradrive, I liked the Tubetone and Spectracomp on my old TC Classic 450 so figure I should like them on a pedal, but unless after specifics such as those I reckon the Harley Benton would work fine - I may well do some research on it as it v seems their gear punches well above its weight.
  8. I’ve been very - no make that incredibly - impressed with the Player Precisions. Easily within budget, great playing, great sounding basses, and light too, I think mine must be less than 8.5lbs. Def worth checking out imo, and that’s from someone for whom the US versions are king.

    NBD - P/J

I think so, the Ultra is the current model , as per Lewis’s comments above, which replaced this one and thats18v.
  10. Am ahead on that one, Don, put up a thread last week: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/422540-nbd-pj/
  11. And me, works in a gig environment where there’s loads going on, even to the point of being able to tune up with recorded music blasting out of the PA before you go on. I’d tried a good few before the TC, none were any good, ambient noise affected the use, in a live situation virtually impossible to get anywhere with the E string, whereas the TC has no issues at all.
  12. It is indeed a beauty, however just scored a P/J Precision which is more “me” so one in/one out policy and all.
  13. Same here, quality bloke (and it’s law to never turn up to see him without biscuits)
  14. Or protesting too much, I suspect a spare room occupied by life size Ramone mannequins, all this is just smoke screening to put us off the trail.
  15. Not sure I’d want to live in a Royal Mail van........
  16. Then best to order it next Monday.....
  17. Not a bad idea, adding in the extra cab will really make a difference to the size of the sound, and the eq of the little marcus is probably more usable so the two combined should really shine.
  18. Erm, three (he says rather quietly)...,
  19. Now Sold Musicman Stingray, 3-eq in very good condition, comes with Musicman hard case. Given current lockdown postage only, which is included within the UK in the price. Due to current worldwide issues UK buyers only. No trades.
  20. Now Sold One genuine US Fender Precision Replacement Neck in very good/almost new condition. Bought for a project in Sep last year, I had it on one of my basses for about a month, then it’s been back in the box ever since, so minimal wear on frets. The pre-drilled holes for the tuners are for the post 2008 US Standards. Cost was £425, so £300 including insured delivery in UK.
  21. To quote: In the other corner, I've stupidly fallen in love with this, like I seem to do every MIJ instrument The underlined bit says it for me, fallen in love with an instrument means buy it and buy it now to me. Instruments are tools for the job, find ones you love and it makes the job so much more enjoyable.
  22. My faves for this were Black Sweden’s rock/ABBA songs.
