  1. These are great basses, I foolishly sold mine.
  2. Good call, I have this as my ringtone, no matter what my mood is every time I hear it it makes me feel better.
  3. If you had more they would form an even surface, so no tripping hazards......
  4. Has a bit of n Another One Bites The Dust sort of feel to it. Great to hear the bass being used properly in some modern songs.
  5. Agree. For some reason though I only like this format on Stingrays, on other basses it just looks wrong to me.
  6. I’ve Jazzes with both, and true to that old theory, I sound like me on either, the spacing doesn’t really affect the sound for me. That said my fave Jazz sound is Deon Usted playing for Wham! Whichever he used is the one I like the sound of best. I suspect a 70s purely to the era, but I may be wrong.
  7. Parcelforce delivered to my work today, and we’re sited near a DHL depot which appears to be working as usual.
  8. Really nice sound on that too, is that very representative of a regular 2-band eq Stingray?
  9. Luckily I’ve just started playing a Jazz....
  10. I put those on all my Fender basses too, you can get specific retainers for the US models, for the Mex/Squiers I get Hipshot ones, saves a lot of hassle for less than £20.
  11. I use the Dunlop Tortex Triangles - essentially due to its shape you get three points on it, so 3 picks for the price of one. I`m a confirmed pick player, used 1.14mm for years, then dropped a bit to 1mm. I`ve now reduced again to 0.88mm, I find them a little bit easier to do intricate riffs with plus, and a rather strange one here, I`ve always like the sound when using the nail on my index finger to play with, and the 0.88s are the pick that sound nearest to that, so I have two reasons to use them. They also have a very cool tortoise on them.
  12. I saw this thread and actually thought someone had bought one of those 15 grand jobbies!
  13. Yep, slightly loose tuner, or a string (usually the A on Fender type basses) not all the way down on the tuning peg, both can cause a really irritating rattle.
  14. Location Methods of payment that will be accepted If item is ok to be sent or collection/meet up only Link to manufacturers full spec if possible
  15. A mate of mine used to work for this mag, he used to get all sorts of interesting gear to test out/review.
  16. I’m fairly sure me posting a load of Fender Precisions & Jazzes isn’t the idea of this thread, but to me they are the most beautiful instruments ever made (though some colour schemes pass me by).
  17. Yep, same size and bulk as regular ABM. Mine was a backup and have to admit it did look cool having two ABM heads on an ABM 410 & 210 stack.
  18. I think an old Hartke head I had - HA4000 - had either para or semi-Para on it. Whichever it made it extremely easy to get the sound I wanted, tho have to admit it was more by trial & error than any real knowledge.
  19. Pretty good actor too, there was a film based around Coward of The County and he was very good in it.
  20. The ABM1000 was class D, as oppose to the regular ABMs which aren’t. Not sure what they are (A, B etc) but whatever it is run them loud and they shine. Quite how Ashdown have managed to get so near to the ABMs with the RMs is beyond me.
  21. Yes, had forgotten those, I had an ABM1000 for a while and it was very good, all the ABM features but a good but lighter.
  22. Yes, on the originals circuit on most gigs there’s usually an agreed gear-share, and at many of the bigger more established venues there’s at least drum shells, plus guitar & bass cabs. It makes 15min changeovers between bands a lot easier (and more realistic).
  23. Given how good their Precision range is I’d expect these also to be very good, would certainly be where I’d start looking.
