  1. Makes it sound more focused & tight, but not at the expense of any low end, if anything it adds to it. Great looking bass btw Jonesy, just screams 70s - which is a good thing imo.
  2. I think pearloid, looks great in an already great looking bass.
  3. My first Rebellion Festival was pretty special, being asked to play the biggest punk festival in world is just amazing. But the gig I’ll always remember was being asked to play for a distant friend who had cancer. We were his favourite band, we did the gig and afterwards he got up on stage to thank us, I had a lump in my throat at that point, this poor guy saying how much he’d enjoyed the evening. 3 weeks later he died. Festivals great, overseas tours great but I’ll remember playing that gig above others. Making my eyes well up typing this.
  4. I’d love to see a band do that 1980 list.
  5. Rose Morris in Hemel, remember it well, used to rehearse in the basement on a Sunday Morning.
  6. Yes a higher clank total than usual - seems in higher mid territory, just wonder if it’s due to the recording gear as the drums also didn’t seem to have much low end either.
  7. That is a beauty!
  8. Same for me.
  9. I’ve never sent anything without insurance, luckily had no issues so never had to try and call on it.
  10. And factor in the weight, those TE combos can weigh the same as small planets.
  11. As long as she doesn’t drive a Volvo she’ll be fine 🤣
  12. Yes I knew we’d chatted about it but the memory now only holds so much...
  13. I can understand where you’re coming from, even though I’m a die hard Fender fan boi. I suppose due to the number of them around they can seem a bit Volvo & Labrador.
  14. Those were my thoughts too, the gap between them really isn’t a grand. I used mine as my flying/European bass, I left it in Germany for gigs over there and after 3 months locked in its case it was still perfectly in tune.
  15. Well my experience of the regular ABM cabs in comparison to the RM cabs is that they have a lower, deeper sound. Easiest way to describe but is that the RMs get the sort of sound you want to achieve at lower volumes (so smaller venues) whereas you can push the ABMs harder (on bigger stages/venues). I can’t see Ashdown wanting these NEO cabs to stray far from the ABM sound though.
  16. Pretty much the same for me, left my band at the end of last year as gigging & touring all over the place was just becoming too much for me. I wouldn’t say that I’ve enjoyed not gigging, more that I’ve enjoyed feeling well & rested for the first time in a long while.
  17. As above, Ashdown now have lightweight ABM cabs - 210, 112, 115. Really good move methinks. If I were still in a gigging band I’d be looking at these for sure. https://ashdownmusic.com/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=Pro+neo*
  18. I had to learn this earlier on this year and was amazed at how busy it is - you can tell they were all on drugs, writing lines that busy! But seriously I love playing it, I’d never heard the song before but it’s become one of my faves to play.
  19. Agree, great singer, really great guitarist, either support them or really bollix them up, think AC chose the former.
  20. Yep it’s all part of the development as a player - I didn’t find out about intonation until I’d been playing for about 10 years so 2 months in you’ve a head start.
  21. That’s a great Precision sound, it just works so well.
  22. Simple songs, with simple melodies, that brought joy to many around the world. Could be describing a pop band, but no, The Ramones were def a punk band, and one of the best imo as for me punk has always been about the music and image, I wasn’t that fussed on the behaviour and anti-many-things. Re the bass itself, I hope a true collector gets this one, someone in the world of music maybe, rather than someone corporate.
  23. I found the SPB-1 to be lacking in oomph, there was just a massive lack of mids for me, however the STK-J2B I thought was great, although I only used it in conjunction with the Precision pickup in my Aerodyne.
  24. I hope he`s successful in getting it back up & running, The Odds is a great little music venue, and Brett is a decent guy, knows how to run a good music venue.
