  1. Wowzers, you learn something new every day, this is why I love this forum. As I use a preamp pedal to get my eq this applies to me - just typical that I learn this on the day of my last gig for the conceivable future,
  2. I’ll be selling one at the end of the week, PM me if interested?
  3. I love Duff McKagans sound in Velvet Revolver, especially on American Man.
  4. That is a beauty, Nick, and the colour scheme just screams 60s.
  5. From the recent topics where apparently all gear sounds the same, well that has to put my mind at rest re thinking of new gear to buy.
  6. The Rumble cabs sound nice, and have a nice vintage look so should pair nicely with your amp. They’re light too, and pretty decently priced so it looks to me like a winning idea.
  7. I love Jazzes when other people play them. I also really like tinkering around on my Squier VM77 Jazz at home every now & then, however I’ve never used a Jazz bass at a gig as I’m a Precision player through and through. That said I’m trying to expand my ways of playing, so the Jazz is getting some use at present. I keep thinking that as I’ve no desire to be in a band for a while having a good Precision, Jazz and Stingray is the way to go, and just play whichever I feel like at the time.
  8. Good call, that’s how I settled on my faves, the Fender Custom Shop 62s, heard a clip on here and it was the exact sound I wanted.
  9. That really is a great looking bass, Andy.
  10. Am currently learning some heavy rock stuff, Bon Jovi, Rainbow, Def Leppard, stuff I`ve liked for ages but never bothered to learn. Quite good fun really, and unlike a lot of the original players my hair isn`t getting in the way of looking at the fretboard as I learn 😂
  11. Sam certainly has some pipes on her, first time I’ve heard her sing, much more volume than you’d expect.
  12. ITEM NOW SOLD One rack-stand to fit 3 instruments. This is a good quality stand, as in the type that doesn`t fall over when it`s loaded - unlike many on the market now. In fairly good condition, only been out with me to gigs a couple of times, it`s been a home-stand. Dimensions are (measured from the parts ready for despatch as I foolishly didn`t measure it when it was assembled) 72h x 48w x 42d (in cm). Price includes postage in UK.
  13. Now Sold One genuine Fender Tort Scratchplate for US Precision - has the cut-out for truss-rod adjustment, but will fit MIM Fenders as well. Is in good but not new condition, I`ve added copper shielding tape to the back. Price includes postage within the UK.
  14. Item now sold One Fender Hi-Mass bridge - their take on the good `ole Badass. Price includes postage within UK. Oh, it`s one of the below btw, but not quite so big:
  15. 3 x brand new replacement nuts, fit Fenders as per below. Ideal for the luthiers amongst you, would prefer to sell all in one hit, if so price - now £15 - includes postage in the UK: Graphtech Black Tusq for Precision Graphtech White Tusq for Jazz Fender US for Precision
  16. Ah, no drums and a heavy 150 watt head, well in that case a lightweight combo makes plenty sense.
  17. I think in this case I`d be looking at a lightweight 2x10 or 1x12 - you already have a 150watt head so chuck that and leads/tuner into a backpack, bass in one hand, cab in other, pretty much sorted. My Ashdown RM210 cabs are pretty light, and the 1x12 is lighter still. Have to admit that Ashdown Studio 112 looks like it fits the bill though.
  18. I’ve been using Fender leads for a few years now and never had any problems. I’ve got the regular black cable, the black & white stitched cable and the tweed cable, all have been fine.
  19. I suppose they’re musically related, I got Andrew Ridgely’s and Debbie Harry’s autobiographies - now got to flip a coin as to which I read first.
  20. It’s great there, Blue, lots of musical history, especially Beatles related. And the people are so friendly and welcoming, we’ve made some good friends over there.
  21. Nothing on NYE but we’ve a gig the night before in Hamburg, with friends of ours, Razors. Aside from my fear of flying am really looking forward to it.
  22. Good call Mick, my last gig as a substantive member of the band happens to be 30 Dec so mine is kind of a New Years Resolution by default.
