  1. If only these - and the other similar units - could be powered by batteries.
  2. In general we rehearse every week whether gigging or not, however recently due to very packed schedules and holidays we’ve lapsed a bit.
  3. Great amount of sounds available, and all good.
  4. Research the item being sold and price it similarly/competitively as it doesn’t matter if you think it’s worth £500 but if everywhere else they’re being sold for £250, you’ll not likely get a buyer.
  5. Tech21 Para Driver v2 - similar to the well known Sansamp Bass Driver but it has sweepable/adjustable mids making it more versatile.
  6. I’d contact Ashdown themselves for their advice on this, they’re on here: @Ashdown Engineering
  7. I’d look out for 2nd hand Hiscox cases, used they’re usually around £70 and it’s money well spent imo.

The most changes I’ve seen on bass was last night when the bassist for The Addicts switched from playing with a pick to fingers for one song.
  9. Seasons in The Sun - Terry Jacks Knowing Me, Knowing You - ABBA Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush My Sweet Lord - George Harrison
  10. I tried them for a while and whilst there was just something missing in the sound for me (think it was the pro-steels are a little scooped sounding) I have to agree, by far the nicest feeling round wound strings I’ve ever played.
  11. Ashdown did make a 4ohm ABM410, not sure if they still do but that would more than handle it.
  12. Projected at proper posh gigs, and left behind at home for every other gig. Money well spent.
  13. We’re in Germany on 31 Oct, driving back 01 Nov. So only four countries to get thrown out of as undesirables 😁
  14. Yep, very near in sound to Rotosound steels but a fair bit cheaper and - for me at least - last about twice as long.
  15. Nice sound but I’d bet isolated it’s a lot less bassy and a lot more middy than it sounds in that mix.

Yes, apparently he switched to Precisions a bit later in The Jam as he wanted a beefier tone live, and has played them predominantly since.
  17. As above, done the same myself, perfect fit
  18. I’m not that familiar with the album but have always liked the bass on Come Together.
  19. Yup, certainly agree with those Mick.
  20. I don`t want to appear big-headed but no, I never think that I sound like crap, however balancing that out I never think wow I`m great either.
  21. Yeah, Toneriders and Wilkinsons are pretty similar, both very good pickups and very close in sound to the Fender Custom Shop 62 imo.
  22. I had a guitar with a tone pot that had a bypass setting on it and as others have said above, it was just like adding in a bit of extra high end.
  23. Not at all, seeing as we don’t take any money from the band, it all goes back into the band/business.
  24. I’ve not been for a few years now, due to gig schedules. Despite the slap-fest and the fact that I’m a regular Precision player I love the LBGS, it’s a good day out. Get to meet some Basschatters you only otherwise talk to on here and chat properly, plus listen to some very interesting talks from high profile bassists, and a chance to chat to the makers of some of the gear you use - for me that’s been Ashdown & Rotosound, and been very interesting. Sure the volume gets a bit much but hey, life ain’t perfect and I far prefer the fact that we have the LBGS to moan about than the alternative.
  25. I’ve never listened to any of the material I’ve recorded and cringed but I have when I’ve watched live videos of the back in the day gigs when I was under the impression that I played better with a few drinks inside me. As I didn’t!!
