  1. I had one, nice and light/portable, and more importantly really sounded good. I’ve got a pair of the 210s as my practical rig. Not as scooped sounding and low-biased as their ABM cabs.
  2. Good frontman yes, greatest ever no.
  3. Mike Monroes album is on my list, going to see him in Nov when they’re on tour. Am far more excited than a 53 year old man should be.
  4. Blood by Gimp Fist, one of the best street punk bands about, and bl00dy nice chaps too.
  5. +1 - The Ashdown RMs are the nearest I’ve heard to proper big amp sound in a small Class D amp. On proper big stages the ABMs strength becomes apparent but in pubs/regular clubs etc the RMs are plenty good.
  6. I use New Moon, pretty impressed with them as you itemise your gear (so do have to remember if adding or selling) which I would think makes claims a little easier.
  7. Not a particular fan of any of them but Nevermind gets my vote as loved Teen Spirit when it came out.
  8. Only have to look at the Rebellion Festival, stacks of bands, some of whom released stuff years back and charted, others who have been going 10+ years, play all over the world, including stadium gigs, released material that would never go near the charts but their vids get hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.
  9. If looking at lighter weight items then the Fender Rumble & Ashdown RM ranges used will be a good bet, as will Markbass. All of these pair really nicely with a Precision in my opinion.
  10. I think it`s a great film, am not too knowledgeable about specifics and timelines but from a viewing point I think it`s excellent, and not just a little bit sad. I think Rami Malek was amazing in the role.

New Bass Neck Day So, I’ve three of my fave US 2013-16 Series Precisions, all with maple fretboards. And I was really gassing for a white/black/rosewood Precision a la Vicious Sidney, which is my fave colour scheme. None seemed to be turning up that were within price range or collection distance. So I bought a new US Fender neck. Slightly slimmer depth wise than my others but that’s no biggie, it has medium jumbo frets, tuners fit straight into it from the maple one I’m replacing it with. Pretty chuffed I have to admit.
  12. Great videos, music well done but not really my thing, bet it would be an interesting gig tho
  13. I’ll check them out, not doing the facespace thing I’ve lost touch with him and what he’s up to.
  14. And Gary was guitarist in The Shout with me in the late 80s, small world indeed!
  15. Well in that case, ‘‘twas Steve on rhythm gtr, me on bass, Mark Emmins on vocals, Julian Cooper (Ray Coopers Son) on lead gtr and Mick Green on drums.
  16. Yeah was in a band - Blackreign - with him in the early 90s, he was on rhythm guitar.
  17. Congrats, my fave series for Precisions, just play/feel/sound right.
  18. I wondered if Steve Carter would be somewhere on there.
  19. I never had any problems with any of my BF cabs but whenever I contacted them for any advice or guidance the response was always very swift. Very good customer service in my experience of dealing with them.
  20. I’ve seen it happen more with vocals than anything. I know some people prefer the vocals low (we prefer ours to not only be heard but to be understood) but I’ve seen some support bands where the vocals couldn’t be heard at all. Now irrespective of main/support band how can anyone working a sound desk not for one be aware of it, and secondly then try and sort it.
  21. See that’s wrong isn’t it, I know some may say the night is all about the headliner but I don’t get that, the soundman is being paid for a whole evening, he should therefore work for the whole evening and apply the best sound possible to all the bands. Glad you went down well despite that.
  22. It was, and all bands on the bill that I saw had a great gig as well which made it even better.
  23. Aside from making sure I have all the gear I need and allowing enough time to get there the main thing for me is making sure I drink enough water. On gigs where I’ve failed to do that I’ve found myself really struggling. Oh, and having a pre-match pee, being in my 50s have to make sure u don’t want to go mid-gig!
  24. Depends on the style you like but my current faves (all Oi/streetpunk bands) are The Old Firm Casuals, The Last Resort, Argy Barny and Booze & Glory. Another fave - still punk - is Dirtbox Disco.
  25. Just back from a punk festival type gig in Great Portland St, London. Two stages, with bands although not starting at same times, on simultaneously, we were on the smaller of the two. The event was run very professionally, everything was spot on even to the security team briefing which largely said “they’re gonna look like they’re fighting, they’re not, unless someone goes down and isn’t helped straight back up leave them alone they’re just having fun”. Sound was good on soundcheck, the soundman clearly a guy who knew his job, which always makes for a good gig. So we went on at 8pm for a 30min set and it was amazing, the room probably held 250/300 and they had to stop people coming in as it was so rammed. The mosh pit was exactly as the security team discussed, frenzied but friendly and the reception we got was out of this world. We had people come from as far away as Chester just to see us, and the comments from audience members throughout the rest of the evening were nothing short of amazing. Quite humbling really.
