  1. That’s a great version!
  2. Looking at this objectively, I see it much along the lines of that TV show that Gok Wan used to do, 10 Years Younger. It’s just implementing a few things here & there that will shave off a few years without making any actual differences. I wouldn’t do it myself but I see it much the same as wearing a suit/shirt/tie to an interview, it’s preparation to achieve something.
  3. I’d look at some form of Ashdown, any issues and they’ll sort, being UK based makes this a doddle.

    NAD Elf

Yup, I’ve not used one of these amps yet, though heard a few and they’ve sounded great. But I have used my Warwick Gnome iPro (the 280 watt version). Was into a GK112 cab of some sorts and for onstage volume it was quite amazing, plenty of power and a good rich sound. From now on I think my Gnome will be my regular gigging amp, makes life a lot easier.
  5. A few months back I phoned with an enquiry about a bass, left a message on voicemail, Will called me back within 5 or 10 mins.
  6. Likewise, thanks for the tip Pete
  7. With the amount of work you’re putting in I really hope you get this
  8. You’re gonna have one for every day of the week soon Rob (and possibly two for Sunday).
  9. No pics sadly but my weightiest set up was: Marshall DBS7400 amp - 50lbs Marshall VBC412 cab - 108lbs Great sound, but back breaking
  10. As you’re used to Barefaced weight Lee, I’d go for their 410. I had one (and the 210 as well for a modular stack) and it has pretty much exactly what you’ve described. Whilst the Orange cabs sound great (and match) they’re very heavy. I was using the BF with Gallien Krueger amps btw, not Orange.
  11. At 58 I’ve very few lines, maybe a couple round the eyes at most. Most people think I’m younger than I am when speaking to me as that’s at a relatively close distance, but from afar, well bald head, very bad posture due to back, well I’m lucky to look under 60 so that’s how my adoring public see me. As they say, you can’t polish one but you can roll it in glitter. But to answer the original question, while Botox/surgery isn’t necessarily for me how do I quantify my tattoos - a permanent procedure carried out which makes me look different than before, cosmetic surgery possibly?
  12. It`s currently on my radar. I was meant to be visiting Ashdown HQ tomorrow so was hoping to try one out, plans have now changed so may well have to visit PMT in Northampton.
  13. For practical use I’d go for the CMD121 & 121 ext cab - I did in fact have this same rig. Combo for rehearsals & small gigs, both for when more is required. The two together are very good indeed.
  14. What colour did you go for Steve, light in the rosewood top or black in the maple of the neck? This probably where I`ll end up once I have to drop the Precisions.
  15. Have been on the lookout for a while for a Fender US Standard 2013-16 Precision in Olympic White with maple neck, weighing less than 4kg. I’ve found recently that on brightly lit stages I can’t see where I am on a rosewood fretboard. Having a bad back basses under 4kg are my limit and for some reason even though I’ve arthritis in my left thumb playing a big fat neck doesn’t cause me pain. I’d decided to seek one out as Precisions are my fave basses so I’m going to play them until I physically can’t anymore. This one, a 2014 turned up so I bought it. Has a set of 45-100 Chromes on it and they sound & play really nice.
  16. Only bassists understand, humans, never……
  17. I’ve just bought a bass that has a nice set of Chromes on it, all the clank has worn off and it sounds really nice.
  18. A good few years back I named the band I was in The Gorgeous Heroes. It was meant to be ironic but some took it a bit too seriously. We folded probably 16 years ago and never seen anyone else stupid enough to use the name.
  19. Will be interested in what you think of them once installed
  20. I have to set the pickups under the E string considerably lower to stop it booming, on Jazzes it’s virtually even with the scratchplate (am talking neck pickup here).

    Tiny bass?

Is that Muttley from The Macc Lads, if so it’s some form of Westone.
  22. I’ve had a good few 210/115 set ups, all worked well, but in all cases the resulting sound of both cabs together was different than from either cab in its own. I’ve also had setups with 2 of the same cab and this worked much better, as essentially you get a good sound with one cab then double it. No changes to eq etc.
  23. I should cocoa
  24. Beautiful ‘burst on that
