  1. GR212 was going to be my suggestion too, and there’s one up for grabs on here at present.
  2. Looks really nice
  3. I had mine done in Boots and it was a chap who must have at least been in his 30s, possibly 40s, very qualified as he explained the procedure very well, what it entailed, what to expect etc. I think they have dedicated qualified staff on this, as with the opticians part of the business, rather than putting general shop staff on it.
  4. That’s a good point, although I tend to scoop mids I generally buy instruments that have them in abundance, I’ve found I can get the sound I want by reducing what’s there but can’t by increasing what isn’t, if that makes sense.
  5. I’ve got the Pro 17s, they claim to have the flattest response of their range. I can’t compare against the rest of their range but the 17s are great, reduce my incredibly loud rock band down to a very pleasant volume, and one at which I can hear all instruments very clearly.
  6. Another ACS recommendation here.
  7. Yeah looking at it I think if I were using it say in a song with a straight eighths bassline I’d play an octave higher than usual then bring in all of the controls to suit, octave lower, fifth and octave higher. Not exactly a rhythm guitar, just added presence filling a bit of the space.
  8. I just took a look at some demos of the Quint, very interesting pedal indeed, ideal for bass covering rhythm guitar .
  9. I’ve watched a couple of his vids, they give a good insight to the role he performs.
  10. I used to love those V-5 heads, the local rehearsal studio had them and they sounded great.
  11. Nice I’ll get in first - tort plate to finish it off.
  12. Now Sold One of the above, only used a couple of times and each time I was impressed by both the sound quality and the amount of power on hand. Comes boxed with manual and power lead. £155 inc postage in UK.
  13. Sold As above, made by Earlpilanz who can be found on EBay. I’ve put shielding tape on the back. The holes for the pickups were too small for one of my JMJs but not another, they’re easy enough to widen though. £25 inc postage in UK.
  14. Now Sold One of the above in fair condition. These really help your back/shoulders on long rehearsals. £35 inc postage in UK.

  17. Now Sold One of the above, works perfectly, and is on 5.8 so no interference. Comes with the charging case, charging lead and instructions. Outer box is a bit tatty but who takes that to a gig anyway. £85 inc postage within UK.
  18. It’s the 280. Was a while back, but from recall I wasn’t pushing it at all.
  19. Awesome, fits US Fenders with thru-body stringing, don’t see many of these around nowadays, bargain for someone.
  20. I used my Gnome iPro at one gig, into either a 1x12 or 1x15 and was pretty amazed at the depth of sound from it. It was only for on stage volume but that has to be as loud as the kit so imo it would have been good enough in a pub without miked up drums. Amazing really.
  21. The US Standards of 2013-16 have a deep neck (though regular Precision width) it’s a chunker. Took me a while to get used to it, so may be worth avoiding this range.
  22. I’d only sand it if I had experience of basses with that already and knew I liked playing necks like that. But given it was bought with gloss, and taking into account resell value (tho can’t see that is much of a factor given you bought it in 1992) I’d just get a refin.
  23. They’re not the basses for me but well done Bass Direct, a definite feather in their cap, great to see this.
  24. I think that’s what I’d be looking at too
