  1. If they feel coated could be Elixirs, they use brass ends for their nickel rounds.
  2. That really was very careless
  3. I suppose having had both I found the 2 to be thicker & more powerful, the 3 to be more precise.
  4. That’s interesting Martin, given how you’ve described your sound previously I’d have thought it would have been the 2-eq ‘Ray that would have fitted you more.
  5. Coincidence that this comes out around the same time as the auction of his other gear?
  6. Congrats, ideal cab for a P-bass with flats methinks.
  7. I’ve already got mine, Fender US Standard Precision 2015. Any other bass I play, no matter how great, it never feels as good as that one does.
  8. I’ve found that I “kill” EB strings very quickly, which is incredibly annoying as I find them great to play. But I’ve read others saying they last them ages so maybe it’s a body chemistry thing.
  9. I remember reading in Sami Yaffas (of Hanoi Rocks) book where when they went to India they were expected to play for 6 hours.
  10. Yep, look at the price of Aguilar/Mesa Boogie/GK etc, all great gear but all getting quite expensive.
  11. Really sorry to hear this Jack. Whilst I’ve not had anything like that I’ve had to work on my playing style this year due arthritis in my left thumb. In a period of about 4 months I’ve managed to get from a place where it hurt pretty much every time I played to hardly any pain at all, so hang in there and once that bandage is off look to what you can do and how to improve it.
  12. Well given that neither the bass nor the player (and especially not the amp if it’s an SVT) have anything to do with the sound the audience hear then why not expect the Motorbikin’ Womble to be holding down the low end behind the curtains, just like he supposedly did on guitar for The Pistols 🤣
  13. Yep, was probably Chris Spedding behind the curtain using a Daisy Rock.
  14. Yep, having been to Barefaced HQ a few years back I can only imagine the increase in rates etc based on its location.
  15. I’m having this happen with mine, maybe not 2mins but at least 30 seconds or so. After that it’s absolutely fine, no problems at all but was a bit unnerving when it first happened.
  16. Indeed we have
  17. I tried a Sterling by Musicman Classic Active a few years back that had a Jazz width neck, so assume there must be an original one with the same.
  18. Must have had to Think Twice though……
  19. I’m one of them Rob, felt a tad rough on Thu, tested Fri as felt very rough and there were the two lines of doom.
  20. I get what @Dan Dare means, in my early 20s still thinking/dreaming of becoming a professional musician I met a fair few and saw how they lived. Not my cuppa I have to say.
  21. Both of the covers bands I’ve been in were 45mins for first set, 15min break, 60min second set.
  22. I watched this yesterday, very good I thought
  23. Drive is one of those things that when you set it for home levels once loud and in a band mix it virtually disappears, so you need to up it a fair bit. I have this thing with my drive pedal, at home settings I consider far too much are unnoticeable in my band. The ABM amps are great in that it’s fine to push any of the controls to get the desired tone, not the type of amps where you have to worry about overloading (well I wouldn’t use the Shape and then boost all bass sliders fully but I’m sure you get my meaning).
  24. Great sound
