  1. Now Sold One Protection Racket Deluxe Utility Case in very good - make that virtually new - condition. Plenty of sections/compartments for small Class D amp heads/leads/pedals etc. Nice sheepskin type lining to keep it all padded and safe, and as per the pics, you can see how clean it all is. Great case, we all know how good Protection Racket gear is. £45 gets this to your door within the UK.
  2. NOW SOLD One set of Tonerider Precision Plus Pickups. These sound very similar to the Fender Custom Shop Pickups that came in the 2012 - 2016 US Standards. Still in original box, have plenty of wire on them, as shown in the pic. £25 to your door within the UK.
  3. What a great rig.
  4. Sorry for late response, no not looking at trades thanks
  5. This annoyingly seems to be happening ore and more recently.
  6. I think that`s it - I`ve had a good few of the Barefaced cabs and realised that whilst what they do they do brilliantly, I just prefer the more traditional coloured sounding cabs, rather than the transparency of the BF ones. It often seemed to me that although they could go super loud, fra more volume than I`d ever need in fact, that there was something that was just not there. I can`t describe it properly, other than to say put the same gear through an old Ampeg/Ashdown/Peavey 410 and what I want suddenly appears.
  7. A great shame, never got to meet him despite playing on the same bill a few times, The Buzzcocks were part of my youth, seems all to real when your childhood faves pass away.
  8. You`re not going to be disappointed @Bridgehouse (well your back might be with the cab) they are fine amps, bags of power, really effective eq options, I had one for a while and it was awesome.
  9. I went with lightweight amps & cabs and was perfectly satisfied with them til I started using Ampeg and Ashdown gear as provided rigs. From then on the lightweight gear sounded just that, lightweight. At some point I’m going to have to, out of sense and age, go lightweight on the cabs again. Luckily Ashdowns RM range of cabs sound great and are a good bit lighter than their ABMs.
  10. Ashdown RM-500-EVO would fit the bill, and you’d have plenty of change leftover too.
  11. Oh man, one of my all time fave cabs, had one about 8 years ago and used one last night and it was awesome. Sadly I am also too old for carting one of these about, but whoever takes this, you won`t be disappointed.
  12. Never seen them live but Out Of Time was pretty much a constant in my car when it came out.
  13. Agree, and I`ve in general found that the better sounding rigs from my point of view have been ones where there have been a whopping great speaker stack, usually accompanied by a heavier weight amp. I`m no good with the techy stuff but to me it seems you need to put less actual bass in when there are a lot of speakers going, but you still get a the low end without the woof.
  14. The one downside to most of the aftermarket ones is that they don`t have the cut-out for truss rod adjustment. I always go for the Fender ones, in terms of quality you can feel the difference, pretty much the same as @Reggaebass expensive bass, not going to skimp on whatever changes I make.
  15. Hanging Around was pretty special too, I remember the first time I heard it I looked round as it sounded like JJ was actually in the room playing .
  16. Most of Bruce Foxtons work with The Jam, JJ Burnels early Stranglers work, and Duff McKagan post Appetite with Guns N Roses & Velvet Revolver.
  17. Nah, they’ll probably run away to a safe distance and monitor it.
  18. Poxy small keyboard - Elvis!
  19. Yes, it’s a shame but that great voice of his has, like Elvia, left the building. I watched the BBC4 show and was saddened by how poor his voice is now.
  20. Keep us all posted, that looks like a great gig, chuffed for you, major opportunity playing the O2!
  21. My old band, The Tuesday Club. I played more traditional Precision/flats/Ampeg sound, down the low end with the other bass being twangy rounds up in those there heights. Worked quite well.
  22. Bedders has a great style, and usually pretty high in the mix. When we played The 100 Club Madness had been there the night before and their names were on the coat hangers - I simply had to hang my Harrington on Bedders’ coat hanger!
  23. Well having had both the 350 and the 500 the latter is obviously more powerful, and when you say that the 350 is sounding noticeably worse that sounds to me like it’s being pushed too much - are you on nearly max volume when this is happening?
  24. I think it should be mandatory.

After a cheeky enquiry following one of Marks threads he kindly agreed to refin a black Vintage Tony Butler Precision to white for me. I`ve recently suffered a bit of bad health so he also very kindly offered to deliver once completed, and did so today. To say I`m chuffed with the results would be understatement of the year, thanks again Mark.
