Good call

I’ve never heard anything so entirely unbelievable

In that case the RM makes perfect sense

If you`re all on leave over that period treat it as a night out for the band, arrange to be driven there if at all possible, have a social, a laugh and hope that as it`s over the festive period there are more people out than usually would be. Sometimes the benefits can be different than financial, when my old band started out we were doing multi-genre gigs (which the others hated doing, as did I) but I insisted we did them, we got used to working as a unit in front of an audience we didn`t want or need to impress but we perfected how we worked so that once we were gigging to the audiences we wanted we were much better. Playing wise we didn`t change that much but we got used to how each other set up/broke down equipment, what was needed in monitors, who needed prompts on set-lists etc, all things like that, we gained in experience as a unit.

Depends on the size of the stages you play, in regular pub sized venues there’s not much between them but get on a very big stage and the depth of sound from the ABM becomes apparent. That said due to back issues I sold my ABM and kept my RM and it doesn’t concern me at all playing big stages, it’s not that the RM isn’t up to it, it is, it’s just that the ABM is more up to it if that makes sense.

Yep, adds some drive, warmth and harmonics making the sound bigger but nothing like the OTB, having had both I’d put the gain/drive of the ABM600 on full to be less than the OTB at 10 o’clock.
-
My impressions of the ABM600 were the same, the extra couple of sliders make a real difference in the sharpness of the sound. I also found it to be quite a bit louder than the ABM500 that I had.

Mine too Dave, loved the cartoons in it, The Three Musketeers and The Arabian Nights Size of an elephant

Tra-la-la

It’s wider than the stage!!

From the photo the E seems to be sitting in the nut ok, as such as they all sound ok if there isn’t any noticeable difference in feel then leave them on.

I think I`ll be first in to recommend the Fender Rumble combos - the 100 watt version is only 9.97 kg so I`d check these out, they`re not too expensive (£300ish), sound great and I`m sure your back will be forever thanking you.

Looks great!!

I agree, I just couldn’t work out how to do it, this computer lark def not my forte - without the thingy over the e of course 🤣

£690 is excellent, only sad that I couldn`t make it there myself.
-
Most definitely, stage/rehearsal rooms/recording studio, def my happy places, I consider myself very fortunate to have a hobby/interest that I get so much from.

Would be a 65 Precision in sunburst/tort/rosewood.

Pretty much the same for me.

Started playing at 15, I’d been in “sortof” bands with mates since I was 16 , the type where you say you’re a band but have never actually done anything other than make a racket with no-one playing anything remotely like the others who are also doing the same. At just turned 21 I bought my first decent bass, a Yamaha BB1100s, about a month later joined a proper established originals gigging band. So I suppose I must have known in the back of my mind that I’d outgrown the sortofs and was ready to apply myself better. Within 3 months I was gigging all over the country.

I really like the Ampeg SCR-DI for this. I don`t like it much for full-on gain/drive but for what you`ve specced out @Supernaut it`s a decent option, very good at adding that little bit so as as to make the notes not completely clean. You can either use the full pedal with all of its eq options or just the Scrambler part of it on your current eq. Added bonus of being a Preamp/DI so all of the uses that come with those.

I’d be more than happy seeing a band doing that set list!

What makes a song hard or easier to learn?
Lozz196 replied to Phil Starr's topic in General Discussion
For me it’s timing changes, if it’s a straight ahead song at the same pace then that makes it so much easier for me. Wayward Son by Kansas took a while to get to say the least. -
We played in Munich with an American band who had a couple of girls (20s maybe 30s) in the band and in the provided food was a cheesecake for each band. One of them (no idea which) wrote in ours “Horny Dad Band”.
