I think that may have been me, I liked the 1000 but the 600 just had what I felt was a bit more grunt to it.

Spacewasters gig at The Trinity Bar, Harrow last night, as part of a Shake Some Acton event with four bands on the bill. Very small stage that, now we’re a 5 piece was cramped to say the least. Being so small onstage sound was poor but having heard the other bands we knew sound out front was good - kudos to the sound man, he was attentive to all the bands all night and didn’t blast the volume to max or make bass drums sound like explosions. Went very well, lots of applause and cheering, which is always nice, and was home before midnight. Forgot to mention, the rig I used was a Hartke HA3500 into a Trace Elliot 4x10, was easy to get a very decent sound from it.

Aaarrrggghh, am sure it sounds great but I’m def one of the OCD Squad, I’d be terrified of it toppling over.

How Clean/Overdriven Is Your Basic "Clean" Tone?
Lozz196 replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in General Discussion
In my gigging band as we’ve got 2 guitars I just set the gain on whatever amp is being used to around 7, seems to be the right spot for my JMJ Mustang, no noticeable drive but thick enough to sound decent.- 40 replies

She’s good. He’s a good guitarist. Should sell his mic tho.
-
Yeah, with a bit more publicity he might become famous…

It happens, even in the world of the successful. A guy I know who has worked with a very well known artist for many years was simply told last year "you`re not in the band anymore" after being unable to make some dates due to scheduling. Never nice, irrespective of whatever level, and to me simply shows the real character of the person doing the dropping.

I use the M80 and can put the bass in whilst the case is standing (tho do prefer to lay it down if possible) and I leave my strap attached to the bass too. I really like the M80s, I’ve had numerous different cases & gig-bags and unless a flying gig the M80 wins for me every time.

Some strings just don’t work for some people, I get that. I love the playability of D’Addario Pro Steels & Ernie Ball Super Slinkys but I kill them after what seems like one song.

I did up until I was in a band with a record deal and did a UK tour, I then realised music was my hobby and trying to make it my job ruined it for me.

I’ve always had pretty decent service in PMT Northampton. Admittedly last time I was in there was late 2022 so not exactly recent but was good all the same.

Boz Boorer All Stars in West Hampstead this Sunday. No idea what to expect, going as Boz recorded/mixed our forthcoming album so will be nice to catch up with him.

I tried one briefly and was amazed at how comfortable the neck was to play.

I suppose I’m quite fortunate in my gigging band, being originals material for most of our gigs there is backline provided so not much to pack away and carry which suits my current glass back situation.
-
Same, have been back doing originals since 2011 and only had to provide a PA at one venue - which was a favour to the venue btw - otherwise PA, monitors, lights always there.
-
Yep, only encountered it once and once was enough.

A year of birth (1965) Precision wouldn’t be in that budget so I think I’d struggle to find a single instrument at that value that I wanted.

Scale Length Preference (<30" - ~30" - 32" - 34" - 35" - >35")
Lozz196 replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
Do it, they’re great basses, I’ve got the CV60s one and have been quite knocked out by how good it is to play.- 49 replies

Scale Length Preference (<30" - ~30" - 32" - 34" - 35" - >35")
Lozz196 replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
Yep, for me I went short scale due to back issues, if it hadn’t been for that in all likelihood I wouldn’t have even thought of short scale. I dare say that’s probably a factor with many of us.- 49 replies

As a recent convert to Mustangs I’m inclined to agree with this.- 49 replies

Taunton-ish to Perth-ish cab mule reqd.
Lozz196 replied to Alfie Noakes's topic in General Discussion
I’m at J8 on M1, happy to do an hour or so Northbound if it helps. -
I don’t miss those days but I most certainly remember them. Even when I had an Orange valve amp head of some kind it was still lighter than my cab.

Excellent Customer Service From Marshall
Lozz196 replied to binky_bass's topic in General Discussion
Awesome, I always had very good service from Marshall when I used their amps - and being only 30 mins drive away meant very easy to sort too. -

I voted 30”. I switched to short scale last year due to back issues and I’ve found that the ergonomics of an instrument that size just suit me better. It’s strange the way these things work out.- 49 replies
