  1. Lozz196

    New band for me!

    Sounds really good
  2. Am happy to announce that The Spacewasters will be making our return, albeit with 7 legs now rather than 8, at The Black Heart in Camden, Fri 25 August. In no attendance will also be my old band Knock Off.
  3. Thanks @miles'tone, hope you get some progress on the health & back. As @Rosie C says walking is good, my osteopath advised it so I go to the gym a few times a week, 30mins on the treadmill only, nothing else and I’m feeling the improvement, def worth a try (but only if advised by whoever treats you of course).
  4. I’ve suffered this year, did my lower back in at work in Feb so it made a nice marriage with my permanent upper back/shoulder injury - not! I had to leave a band I was playing guitar in as the amount of gear & setting up was beyond me, especially leaning over to place cables & plug leads into amps/cabs etc. Decided to try short scale basses and they’ve enabled me to continue to play bass in bands. As well as being lighter due to the playing position the centre of gravity is different - more central to the core of the body - so I’m well pleased, my back still gives me grief but it’s getting better.
  5. Nice one @Clarky, they’re great basses, nice to see I’m not the only one sporting the white pearloid pickguard too (and similarly I also moved the tugbar to the lower position).
  6. I remember it well Oranjeboom Orangeboom it is a lager not a tune
  7. Very interested in this, I`ve got a Squier Classic Vibe Mustang as backup to my JMJ, trying to get the sound as near as possible, think I`ll see what Northern can do re this.
  8. Has a more Chinese Democracy vibe to me than their earlier material, that could be due to the vocals. I’ll give it a proper listen later on but first go on the iPhone I like it.
  9. Are you a mostly low fret player, if so it may well be that you’ve got a bit of fretwear on the lower frets, action set to suit those so when you venture further up the less worn frets are generating some buzz.
  10. Yes I saw that one, I was quite surprised by it, they have all those roadies etc and he was using a tiny little amp, obviously a caring rocker!
  11. That`s the way I worked in my old band and why I preferred Ampeg or Ashdown rigs on stage, made the sound nicer to my ears so I enjoyed the gig more.
  12. The one problem in rock is that although many songs are recorded by male artists they were young when they did this so had the range, getting more mature people to hit those notes can be difficult - Axl/Elton/McCartney to name a few. Of course if Elton does audition you should take him, he might be worth the publicity…..
  13. On hold pending the usual Price is £550, stoopidly put the ‘bay price in by mistake. In very good condition, no dings or nicks, tuners have been upgraded to Hipshots for greater stability. No trades, collection/meet-up only.
  14. Now £850 This series don’t seem to come up for sale that often which probably tells us all we need to know about how good they are. In ok condition - described like this due to the holes drilled for pickup covers and 2 dents/nicks on the back of the neck at frets 6 & 8 as per photos - otherwise in decent condition, frets are all ok, if you’re looking for a pristine instrument this isn’t for you. Plays and sounds great. Comes in a Gator hard case. No trades, collection/meet up only.
  15. In my younger years I had thoughts of Gotta Getaway by Stiff Little Fingers being played at my funeral to inject a bit of humour but now I think I’d like my favourite song, Seasons in The Sun by Terry Jacks played.
  16. It’s probably the solution, irrespective of how many were sent I think it would be an Arsene Wenger case of “I didn’t see them”.
  17. £26 a bit much but think I’ll still get a copy, maybe I’ll put it on my Xmas list.
  18. Black Stone Cherry at Islington Assembly Hall, London, Fri 29 Sep
  19. I think it’s good to be aware of how our musical colleagues are being treated around the world. Whilst pay to play is nothing new this is the first time I’ve heard of pay to be put on a list to possibly play, the greater awareness we have of rubbish like this the better.
  20. “are finalising details regarding a paid membership option”, which they claimed “will come with loads of extra benefits both before, during and after performances on the Hochatown Saloon stage”. I think I`d only cough up if the extra benefits were the type that Motley Crue used to get.
