Seems like a good reason to get another one of those lovely Barefaced cabs methinks
-
I’ve only ever been in one band with a female in it, she was a backing singer. She wasn’t treated any differently than any of the others and didn’t expect or want it any other way.
-
Although I’ve had to make some changes recently I’m pretty content with my gear and bands, don’t think I’d actually change anything aside from if it were at all possible I’d get our singers leg back, he sadly lost part of it due to a motorcycle accident last year.

Those CMD121Ps are amazing amps @gjones, capable of a lot more than would be thought from their size
-
Aside from a currently pending purchase I’m not looking at anything at the moment.
-
I’ve two amps, both Ashdowns, RM500 EVO 2 and an Ant as backup. That said due to back issues I’ll now be going ampless just using my Sansamp, I’ll take along the Ant to gigs in case of difficult sound peoples. Edit - I forgot to include my home practice rig which is an Ashdown Mini Stack. Cab-wise I have two Ashdown ABM PRO NEO 210s for gigs should I need them.

Nice one @Smanth, really pleased for you

I think one of the reasons why rock covers bands like female singers is that once blokes advance in years, in general, their high pitching goes and most rock songs are sung quite high, as such females can generally reach notes that males left behind years ago, assuming they could ever get them in the first place. We had a similar conversation with the guy at our rehearsal studio, he said given the material we do - Rainbow, Deep Purple, Led Zep for example - we`d be hard pushed to ever find a male singer, other than one in their 20s, who could do that stuff and realistically would said guy that was able to sing that material be satisfied with being in a band with blokes in mid/late 50s, rather than put his talents elsewhere.

Given that they`re actually doing this live later in the year on tour, The Darkness with Permission to Land.

Grrr! What do you hate about gear you love?

Similar theme to a good few here, sadly my fave basses - Precisions - are too heavy & big for me nowadays. -
I’m with you Roger, Now Then is a great album.

A compressor will help, stop the “pops” from really jumping out too much. If you’re not looking to add anything tonally the MXR M87, Keeley Bassist and Seymour Duncan Studio Compressor are all very clean sounding, all go for between £100 - £150 second hand.

If Axl could still sing like he did when it was recorded I’d say Guns N Roses doing Appetite For Destruction.

I rarely use the four fingers for four frets techniques but 3rd finger is probably the second most used one. I`d suggest doing exercises like across the fret-board starting at 1 & 3 on the E, work across the board then back, then go to 3 & 5 repeat the pattern, then 5 & 7 etc. You can then move on to fret 1 on E to fret 3 on A, 1 on D to 3 on G and repeat going up the board. This should build up strength, stretch and speed in the 3rd finger.
-
That`s all you need, you`re as prepared as you can be, whether or not people like the material or not is their choice/likes but you know you`re going to deliver it properly.

I’d have loved to have seen Darts back then. Apparently they’re still going but not sure how many originals still in the band now.
-
Or just take off the B string maybe. But then this is Basschat, we should be encouraging you to buy a new bass!

Really nice, lovely dark ‘board

Looks great, lovely minty green scratchplate

Great basses to play, look and sound awesome. Pain to cart around as cases are huge, and neck dive can be quite severe. If wanting a real thud with pick playing a Tbird is a good choice.
-
They’re pointless for me as I have no need of what they offer for my playing needs. If I needed the lower notes or the songs were such that moving across the neck was easier/better than up then they would be very pointiful (I think I’ve just made that word up btw).
