  1. You can probably get a gig on Trumps Campaign Trail
  2. I tried putting it into Google Translate but smoke started coming from my phone….
  3. That’s awesome, as are the other 2
  4. I think I’d rely on that too, and maybe my skill in suggesting someone else.
  5. It was Don’t Go Away Mad that he used this Schecter on when I saw them last week. Maybe they were trying to prove a point but the cameras zoomed in on his fretboard on the melodic bits and he was certainly playing the right notes.
  6. Great venue, was where I did my first “proper” gig (as oppose to rubbish no-plan performances), was 13 June 1987.
  7. Very true Mick, the difference in price and quality isn’t proportional.
  8. If I recall correctly Cliff Williams of AC/DC does this, then backs off of the treble a tiny bit.
  9. Really pleased for you Dave, glad you can keep playing
  10. I can’t think of any songs i specifically hate but there are a few bands/artists I’m not keen on so feel conflicted if a song of theirs comes on the radio that I quite like.
  11. I’ve had a good few Squiers and many Fenders. Every US Fender I’ve had was better for me than every Squier I’ve had. I have however had some Squiers that I preferred to the earlier range MIM Fenders, namely the Matt Freeman Precision and those Made in Korea. I’ve had Squier Affinity Precisions that were a joy to play as well so it doesn’t have to be the higher priced Squiers.
  12. Hipshots, easy to install, nice smooth action and most importantly nice & accurate
  13. In my last band I’d say we were semi-pro, it was a legit business and we used to do tours overseas etc. Those tours were hard work, great fun for sure but hard work, after the tours it was nice to get back to the day job for a bit of a rest.
  14. As you say the CMD121 makes a wonderful amount of noise for its size, but once you add in that NY121 you`ll really be amazed.
  15. Yup, a lot of Bolex out there
  16. That’s quite telling in itself, that techs recommend them.
  17. I had three 70s Precisions, a 77 with rosewood fretboard and two 78s with maple. One of the maple ones was seriously the most aggressive bass I’ve ever played, I named it Ian Paisley after the politician as it barked just like he used to. The other two were decent enough basses but IP, well for punk it was pretty awesome.
  18. I’ve seen The Darkness, The Professionals & Stiff Little Fingers there, pretty decent sound for all, a bit boomy at times on the more energetic material maybe.
  19. I’d say if you’re happy with the GK sounds then their MB200 would be worth a look. Cabwise I’d check out the LFSys Monza, as per the link below. Nice & small set up but with some good sound quality.
  20. I think I’ll be associated with black/black/maple Precisions for a while even tho I’ve now jumped ship to Mustang basses.
  21. I like the TC Electronic Polytune. I used to have the BOSS TU-2 and it was great but the TC is smaller & lighter, plus it matches with my TC Clip-on tuner.
  22. At a Bass Bash a good few years back there was a 32” Maruszczyk Precision and it played really nice.
