  1. Looks great, real nice wear/mojo and awesome dark fretboard
  2. Fender/Sansamp/Ashdown The warmth of the Fender & Ashdown work well with the clinical sound of the Sansamp.
  3. No use for that I’m afraid, wouldn’t know what to do with a fret less bass other than to put frets on it. Well I’ll probably just use 8.5 at home and keep the other 2 for band use as they’re lighter but that’s not a bad idea at all.
  4. So Bass Bros had a black Fender JMJ Mustang at 7lb15, it would have been incredibly rude to not snap it up, should receive it next week. Then I’ll have 3. The sensible part of me says move the heaviest (8lbs5) on but I just love these little basses so much that I’m sure I’ll keep them all.
  5. Unless it affects playability or tuning stability leave as is.
  6. Yes, got a couple of Mustang ones from them, very good quality
  7. How much of the ABMs EQ do you use, if a fair bit then go DI from there. I’ve found that as cabs in general have a coloured sound (usually adding in low end) what goes to DI from an amp (or pedal) is less so, this making it easier for FOH to mix in.
  8. Having had both the ABM500 & 600 I found the 600 to be way more powerful. Maybe the extra EQ points help but it really was a different beast. Having put it through a Big Twin I couldn’t imagine the need for any more power.
  9. And if finding its still not working, unless the bass-line is an intrinsic part of the song dumb it down a tad.
  10. Don’t, that’s one of my pet hates, bands thanking, get on & play please!
  11. Def a Friday Afternoon Fender - the NM I mean.
  12. Maybe it was a condition of attendance, like being over 4ft 6 to go on the rides at Alton Towers?
  13. Yup, always found that to be the case with the folks at Ashdown
  14. That’s awesome, and The Arena is a great stage, certainly one of the best sounding (Club Casbah being the other imo), hope you all have a great one @Leonard Smalls
  15. It’s on the suggested settings, on all of them the Master is set on full. It seems a strange way to use it but when I had one I did it this way and never had any problems with volume.
  16. Ampeg advise to have the Master Volume on full then use Gain for the volume required. Additionally if not using the graphic for tone shaping engage it and boost the slider on the right hand side. Start with Bass/Mid/Treble at midday, fully anticlockwise is cutting them.
  17. I’ve had similar, people who’ve watched the band all night ask me if I go to see them a lot. I must be instantly forgettable.
  18. I was a bit undecided re the various choices of Mustangs out there, in the end I went for the JMJ due to both neck width but also thought if going Mustang get one with Mustang pickups rather than Precision pickups.
  19. Def helps the band imo, but then that`s me coming from a punk background where football-terrace backing vox were the thing. If doing covers I generally go with were there any on the recording or does the lead singer need help on a chorus, be it to lift the song further or did the original have the lead singer doing a harmony as well as the main line.
  20. I think if all of the other instruments are going through the PA then one cab and DI, if it`s (intended) only vocals and a kick-drum presence in the PA then another cab as well for a greater depth of sound.
  21. Multiple options - well it took me multiple attempts to even get this up & running I`m afraid (not the best at techlife)
  22. For those who’ve had to use a backup bass, why? I’ve started off with electrical fault - tho the backup was in fact a borrowed bass.
  23. Yep, follow the singer, I’ve seen band do otherwise and it ends up as a gangfurk.
