  1. Still with me, unlike everything else I had at the time of my post as above. It’s now done a good few Rebellion Festivals, a further two albums and a few European tours. It’s now strictly home use only tho, means too much to me to take it out of the home.
  2. Most painful performance was my first ever gig, which was on lead guitar and lead vocals. Being young (16) even I had bags of energy back then so had a tendency to walk around the stage when playing. Not ideal when you’re meant to be singing through a mic on a mic-stand. This brought much amusement from the audience, the majority of whom I was at school with, so the next day at school was a difficult one. But none of those laughing had the balls to get up there & do it. I did.
  3. Just bought ticket to see Motley Crue & Def Leppard at Wembley in July.
  4. As you like the GK sound I’d look at their MB amps. Want a small portable & powerful cab, well Barefaced, GR and LFSys (our very own @stevie) all produce these types of cabs and would get a lot from a GK MB200 or 500.
  5. No it’s my - and The Dogmattics - first time there. Looking forward to it.
  6. No it’s not an April Fools joke, we really are at The Lord Haig punking it out at around 9ish.
  7. Yes I did, at the end of the rehearsal I didn’t have anywhere near as much fatigue on my back as I usually do, really pleased about this.
  8. I get a pretty much identical Marshall sound from my Bluguitar Amp1 which is a tad smaller and lighter than a regular sized lap-top. It makes Class D bass amps look large, cumbersome and heavy. In my old band the guitarist had one of these as a backup and A/B`d against his JCM900 the only difference we could hear was in the controlled feedback, the JCM performing more nicely on this aspect. I love the Marshall sound, but I`m at a point where I can`t even lift a Marshall valve amp head, let alone carry one. Thankfully other brands can give the sound I want, just a shame that Marshall themselves haven`t developed something similar.
  9. I had an issue with my RM500, no output at all. Rang Ashdown and Dave very patiently reminded me of the Headphones button on the rear panel. I’m sure they’ll sort it for you @Grezza 1
  10. Cheers @Clarky @fretmeister that looks amazing, I think I’ll be contacting Mark soon myself
  11. Just got home from rehearsal using said new JMJ. I set the amp as I usually do then made any adjustments as required, which ended up with a slight low mid boost whereas with my Precisions it’s usually a big cut there. Overall it felt a bit odd as I’m so used to hearing a Precision when I play but if I’m honest it suited the band better, and the guys said so as well. I also had no trouble adapting to the short scale in the band environment. So I’m now even more extremely pleased with this little bass.
  12. Well tonight using my new JMJ Mustang Bass I had to boost mids slightly at 400Hz whereas with my Precisions I’d usually cut at this area, still boosted a lot at 3kHz as I usually do. A lot less low mids in my JMJ.
  13. Now at that price I may well be tempted.
  14. I always hated playing Born to be Wild yet audiences loved it.
  15. Ouch. As much as I like Ampeg gear it would need to halve in price before I try one.
  16. In 1987 I bought my first “real” bass, a Yamaha BB1100s, was £400. Fender Precisions were about £325 (and out of stock hence the Yammy purchase). Now at that time a pint of beer was about 70p so a Precision was equal to approximately 460 pints. Nowadays a pint is around a fiver and a Precision is about £1700, so approximately 340 pints.
  17. I’ve bought some from iknmusical on EBay and they’ve fitted perfectly. Not sure where they’re based though.
  18. Yeah I’d say Rotosound or Fender (if Fender do short scale flats that is)
  19. Re used gear, well the prices always tended to be based around what an item would cost new. In 2015 I got a new US Precision for £900, at the time used ones were £500 to £600. A new Precision now is around £1800 so it’s unlikely that the second hand won’t also come up in price.
  20. Exactly, two major incidents, one of which affected pretty much the whole world, the other affecting a large chunk of it.
  21. Well I’ve just swapped over the Chromes that came on it for a set of my fave Elixir steel rounds - regular scale do fit fine - and wow, just amazing. I love this bass more and more every time I play it.
