Mark King Expohal 1985 vid, anyone keep a copy?
JJ Bass replied to JJ Bass's topic in General Discussion
Wish I had been there, but would have been too young to understand it! Its an amazing gig, very raw and full of energy. Sounds like its been recorded from the sound desk, but still a bit primative Drop me a line if you want a copy... -
Mark King Expohal 1985 vid, anyone keep a copy?
JJ Bass replied to JJ Bass's topic in General Discussion
Hi, Haven't been on the forums for years! Only met MK once after a gig in Newark around 2000, lovely fella, certainly gave my mrs the eye, git! Gillingham? Was that at The Central? That was 1981, and I have that on cd They played a very rare track on that gig, you'll find it on youtube. Also had a good jam at the end of Almost There, only time I've heard that version. Mk's singing voice is better when he smokes, just a little deeper, see if you can find the Crystal palace gig from 1991, he mentions his liking of the fags then - yes, I know too much about L42!! Drop me a line via pm and I'll try and email you The Central gig -
Mark King Expohal 1985 vid, anyone keep a copy?
JJ Bass replied to JJ Bass's topic in General Discussion
Yes, it was just MK, a Jaydee, a stack of Trace's and a drum machine! Only about 15-20 minutes in total, but brilliant of course! Look on youtube for Mark King Expohal (Dutch??) and you'll find the audio. In the vid you saw Crockford (L42's then manager) wrapping up MK's leads and handing him a lit fag, thats being looked after alright. -
Hi all, Just been searching on youtube for the Mark King expohal gig but its no longer there, did anyone rip a copy off there and keep it on their hard drive? I've got the audio, but would like to get it back onto youtube again, watched it too many times Thanks in advance! J

Hi, has this gone yet ? )

Thanks for the info, I'll see what I can adjust and possibly have to upgrade my equipment!
-
Thanks for all the help! I've managed to sort of get things going with the cd that came with the usb box and then save it to audacity (well, its free) But will upgrade as I need the quality to be spot on as my bass/idea's are being used on a forthcoming single. Can anyone say if they get a slight delay from playing to what comes through the headphones/speakers? Doesn't seem too bad on the recording but its rather off-putting and obviously will be useless if trying to sync up to an exsiting track

bump for help!!

Morning all! I've just bought a usb input to record into my laptop, the disk it comes with it guitar rig 2, which allows me to playalong and just record my bass only, which is damned annoying!! Is there any programs/downloads which allow to record either double or mulitple tracks? I've also been asked to record my bass for an up and coming album, music panned on one side, music on the other so it can be sorted out in the processing stage.. Which was the reason for me buying the damned thing! Look forward to hearing from all you knowledgeable people
I believe it is but I don't have one so can't be entirely sure. I like not having anything at my feet, so rack gear suits me. I have a Zoom GFX-707 for Guitar, though it sits on top of an amp, not on the floor, and it's pretty good, considering it's age. At some point I'm looking to get a Zoom Studio 1201 to sit in the effects loop of my mixer. With Behringer and Zoom gear you can put together a cracking rig for not a lot of money.
Unfortunatly I can only have one thing at a time at the moment, so the Behringer will have to go, but I will get another one when I can
It's a great bit of kit, I love mine. Though, if you want control at your feet but with the versatility of the V-Amp Pro, why not go for the Midi pedal? http://www.behringer...ts/FCB1010.aspx
Look quite a nice piece of kit too! Is it programmable? I got used to my Zoom's that I could tweak forever!
NYJO....National Youth Jazz Orchestra
Yes, he was in NYJO, I saw him a few times with them and the late Chris Dagley on drums. They did an amazing jazz funk track on an NYJO album called Maltese Cross, its worth finding! I saw them do it live and it blew me away! I was very young at the time and was more into funk back then (still am!) and it was just stunning. BTW Mark Ong's youtube site has gone, great shame.

(possible swap?)! Behringer Pro V B (amp/efx) for Boss multi efx pedal
JJ Bass replied to JJ Bass's topic in Effects For Sale

Hi all, I have a Behringer Pro V Bass - identical to this - http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43ad81d49a I've had it for a little while and its an amazing bit of kit, no faults and a million ways to change your sound, but I fancy a change. I'd like a Boss Bass multi effects pedal, it doesn't have to be in brilliant condition, just as long as everything works! The Behringer can work not only as an effects processor, but an amp too, and its bloody good!! Let me know who's got what as we can go from there Hope to hear from you soon. I've bought a few basses off here and I'm sure they will tell you I have good comunication and I don't mess anyone around Or if Its for sale it'll be around the £130 inc postage mark - it cost me nearly double a few months ago! All the best J
If you want the best from that bass I'd get it sorted by the person who knows it best - send it to John and let him put it right!! All this second guessing isn't getting it fixed so let the man weave his magic on it - it'll be money well spent!!
Funnily enough the bass seems to be righting itself, I'm slowly day by day lowering the action and even though the action was too high on my jam vid (blisters to proove) the bass is sounding just great I'll get it to John when I can...
