3. 506 withdrawn for now. didn't really give it a chance... will have another play with it. Korg pitchblack plus added... have a fretless now so I don't need to be in tune any more.
4. PIcture link doesn't work for me (just goes to a 'mobile me' login page)
5. I seem to be getting notifications in the basses for sale forum (which I was subscribed to before the site change) but not to the effects for sale forum (which I 'followed' since the site change)
6. Some discussions on the MBII. Was playing with the 506II a bit last night - it's really not bad!
7. very organic looking (in a nice way!)... good luck with the sale!
8. Thanks, had a listen to a few demos of the harmonic booster but I don't think it's for me ATM.

11.
Plus, I like mucking about with stuff, it`s good fun.
This is why I actually need my effects - for practice. It's boring otherwise. When I'm with the band I don't use them at all! I'm hoping to start taking one of my drive pedals along and see how that goes.
12.
Jamie, having had one recently I can tell you, it needed no mods whatsoever. I read up on all the blurb re upgrading the EQ blah blah, but it was nonsense IMO. All my GWB35 needed was some of the fretlines removing and re glueing as they had a tendency to pop out due to a lack of care when they were glued in in the first place. Once that was sorted the bass was perfect. Great tone from the stock electrics, MASSIVE low B too, it was a great bass, and IMO needed no upgrades at all.
Had it a week, and have to say... +1 I've just installed a passive switch in it, and while I am looking forward to trying it out passive through some of my effects (not to mention being able to leave it plugged in without draining the battery) , my first impression is that there's nothing terribly wrong with the onboard EQB-GW2 EQ circuit. The frequency points suit the bass well... I was A/B'ing having the EQ switched in against the passive mode through an EBS Microbass, and tonally I preferred the onboard sound - much fuller, tighter bass, especially on the B string. By the way, the passive switch is an easy mod as the pickup goes through a normal 500k passive volume pot before going through the active EQ.
13. As long as they could be set up for BEAD ok, not a problem...
14.
Aria SBs?
Some nice looking machines!
15. OK, So, I got an Ibanez GWB. It's noice! Anything else?
16. I just got one of these off a fellow forumite. Plays very nicely. I'm a bit confused with all the people around the web slagging off the 'existing preamp'. I can't see that ibanez claim that it has a preamp in the sense of something that will give you a big dB boost. The EQB-GWII is more like an active EQ, right? That said, I wish there was a bypass switch to help out when the battery dies!
17.
The Dean fretless 5's have a 16mm spacing
Thanks... will keep an eye out!
18.
you know you've got the greatest nickname ever, do you? btw, I would check have you tried cort? I they're still making a 5 string curbow, that would probably be a great choice. if you are into [cheap] fender clones, why don't you check rondomusic for 5 string JBs. as far as I know, they come with very narrow string spacing!
I think deadmau5 beat me to it though... kind of... I'll add the cort curbow to the list of ones to look out for, thanks (apparently they are 17mm). There was a tanglewood curbow on ebay last weekend but I would prefer a cort as I have good memories of my Action Junior!
19. I got an el-cheapo 'KS' fretless 5 off another BC'er a few months back and am getting on with it pretty well - part of which is the string spacing, 16.5mm at the bridge. If I wanted to grab something else with that spacing, what's out there? Some Ibanez 5 strings seem to have 16.5 mm spacing but the only current model seems to be the GWB35. Warwick was also mentioned elsewhere as having narrow spacing... can't see any spacing stats on their site though. I'm thinking of things that could be found in the £200-£500 range, new or s/h.
20. Hi, Was this originally fretless or was it a defret job? How is the fretboard wear - any sign of roundwounds having eaten away at it? How is the action at the nut? Thanks.
21. I had a VT and a VT deluxe for a while. I doubt they were both defective, but they did have a bit of noise at more extreme settings - All controls apart from 'low' have the potential to add noise of a kind, and they all have quite a wide range too...
