2. Do you know if the 616 is a v1 or v2?
3. It's actually kind of tricky to learn compression with most pedal compressors, because a lot of them don't have the full set of controls a studio compressor has, and more importantly they don't have metering that shows you how much gain reduction is happening. You can get a much more flexible rack compressor for cheaper than most decent stompbox compressors. If you want to mess around, and your signal chain allows it (it'll want to run at line level), maybe grab one of those to learn on. But at the end of the day, if you don't need one, you don't need one! And as I said before, most people get compression without using a compressor.
4. You can't do everything with just technique - slap and pop is always going to be louder than delicately picking out a few harmonics, so if you want to combine different techniques in the same song, a compressor can be your friend. Compression also buys you longer sustain - though you don't need a compressor to get compression, as fuzzes and distortions also have a compressive effect.
5. That is very, very cool It deserves someone who can actually play, i.e. not me... but still. whereabouts you at?
6. I put some on yesterday.... they've not broken yet

I'm another who took advantage of Graham's blowout sale last week... very friendly price on a Microbass II. Turned up today, condition is nice and tidy as described. Seems a great little unit. Appreciate it, many thanks!
8. Bought a set of strings - all nice and easy, and said strings arrived next day. Thanks a lot!
9.
- Can anyone recommend an overdrive which produces successful results with both bass and guitar, and which incorporates a blend or mix control to add dry signal to the effected signal?
Two that fit your description : 3xfx fatman (though blend is internal) Voodoo labs sparkle drive (I've not used it but 'gets some love' from bass players) Some other pedals that I feel are good on both (no blend though) Catalinbread SFT ZVex Wooly mammoth Roger Mayer Voodoo Bass Muff-style pedals are also obvious candidates for dual duty. (Blackout musket, etc)
10. Maybe try messaging the other interested parties (apart from me - i got mine!) in this thread
11. Happy that Rupert was able provide a home for two of my outbound pedals. Everything fast and friendly. Many thanks!
12.
The list for this is: Topo Morto Bremen Bassmonkey Jacqueslemac Roll up, roll up...
Yeah I'll make sure it goes on with the list attached! Unfortunately this weekend just gone was spend doing a lot of box-shifting, not much time to kick back with a book - was happy to find out that coming monday is a banker!
13. Took a rack bag off my hands. Very easy and pleasant to deal with, seems to run in the family too. Thanks a lot!
14. very nice deal on a diago powerthingy Thanks! Ivan
15. These are great pedals... will give you a nice warming a bit like a sansamp on a subtle setting, and can also act as a cut pedal (vol goes down to 0) and a preamp. Good lock with the sale!
16.
A brand new Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B is for sale in the UK. Let me know if your interested. Customs charges have already been paid. This is an awesome pedal. Here is what Wren and Cuff said about it: http://wrenandcuff.com/site/the-stompboxes...guitar-booster/ Warranty is automatically transfered with the pedal.
But it's your name! how can you sell it? just FYI you need to list a suggested amount. (Borat voice - 'very nice, how much?') and also this needs to go in the effects for sale forum (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showforum=69) - maybe one of the mods will move it for you if you PM. Great pedal, good luck with the sale.
17.
how is the dirty bomb on lower gain settings ?
To be honest I've not used it a lot so I don't really know how it is at any settings It's just on sale as I have to get rid of at least half my pedals to come back into the realm of sanity and as I've not had a chance to get into it it's on offer. I'd have a go now but I'm in the middle of turning my studio/storeroom into a bedroom/storeroom so hard to find space to plug anything in. If I can find space to put my feet in the next few days I'll have a go - were you interested in it on geetar, bass, or both?
18.
ebs microbass 11 £130 ebs bass iq £85 mxr blowtorch £50 2 x dunlop power bricks £45 each thanks for looking
Feel almost obliged to try the microbass II!
19.
You managed to get tickets?
All down to my dad who as well as being a Stokie is involved in the local (Cambs) FA. We still had to pay £200 for three mind, and we were right up in the gods. Very little to cheer in the game - there was Silva's open goal miss and the moment a Man City fan was identified among the travelling potters... but Stoke, as they say, 'didn't turn up'. Bumped into quite a few Stokies at the Tate Modern - surprisingly cultured lot! (Or maybe just cos it's easy to get in without paying)
20.
Pm on that HBE
I didn't get one yet...? PM'd you though (in case that's what you meant )
21. I have had an offer of local handover so i should call it on hold for now.
22.
If you come into central london anytime soon I'd pay 20 for it and your trouble of carrying it here.
Thanks for the offer though I am still scarred from the the FA Cup final Will have to get over it before the 'lympics!
23.
If you decide to post it i'm up for it!
Thanks... It probably costs more to post than I want for the item (just want it out of the way really) but if it's still around in a couple of weeks I may look into economy services...
