Reasonably solid lightweight 4U rack bag with exterior padding. C/W shoulder strap and mounting screws. front and rear access via zippable panels which velcro to the sides to keep them out of the way when you need access. Here it is look: Just the thing now that you can get 90's expensive rack gear off ebay for less than the cost of pedals - buy a few lexicons and drag them out to the the pub with you! Anyone near me want it?

Bought this as a foray into fretless... Good enough to drop it off (relatively) locally and spend some time going through the ins and outs of it. I'm quite optimistic about fretless playing now actually! Very generous deal, gratefully received... many thanks! Ivan
I always run 2 chorus pedals on my board. A bog standard boss for general use and a cheap PSK guitar chorus that only processes the signal from the upper register. This comes in handy if I'm playing chords and tapping the root notes. Other than that I'd maybe go with an Octaver and Wah. Maybe a decent synth too.
This kind of hints at something else I was going to say too - good sounding effects chains for bass are often very simple (bass -> one effect -> amp), or quite complex - where you have some kind of parallel / split band processing going on.

You can still be a purist with a VT bass - you're still going bass -> amp, just that your amp is a modeled one! I'm sure you could get a Boss or Zoom digital multi-fx for £100 second hand with all the basic effects. Once you know what specific effects work for you you can always shop around a bit more for standalone boxes (but for effects like delay and reverb, the multi-fx boxes may be more flexible anyway)
Yet again another pedal that i want and no money wicked Take it your not up for an trades then?
To be honest I am at the stage of life where I have bought a ridiculous amount of gear and 80% of it has to go... so not really after trades, sorry! Have you got a sofa you can look down the back of? Usually there's a couple of hundred under the cushions somewhere...
Sorry man I think the original buyer is taking them both now, unless he changes his mind. I'm going to assume he's taking them both unless I hear otherwise from him.
My main concern is pissing you off with all the messing around! If you're happy for a third change of plan - Scotticus, you take it. I'm paid up for mine already. I'll PM you my address.
Unfortunately your last link was broken
Phew, thank goodness it was just an invalid ID and not a link to something else I'd been watching! Cheers for the example of how to embed vids too. Having said I'd relinquished my VT Bass, I've now thrown the big bucks at the VT Deluxe! The blonde has gone though... for now. -
Whereabouts are you based? Might have a friend who is interested.
Aah sorry this just sold yesterday, hadn't got round to updating the thread yet. If he wants it for guitar rather than bass, I have a GT2 for sale though which also has a good fender setting (though 'tweed' may or may not sound as sexy as 'blonde') http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=135976 I'm in Cambridge. -
Maplins do a wide Velcro perfect for pedals and a light application of white spirit thinners on a cloth will ease the removal of same from the pedal later.
Do you mean wipe with thinners on before applying the velcro, or just to clean any stickiness off? I may just have been lucky but I always find if you start from the corner of the velcro and pull it away really slowly, all the glue comes away with the velcro rather than staying on the paint. Just I would prefer to use the thinners for what they are meant for : drinking

+1 on 'won't damage'. Moving on to how they'll sound: Generally, time - based effects like reverb, chorus, delay, flange etc. are going to be usable with either instrument. When it comes to distortions, fuzzes, etc, you might find that units designed for guitar will sound a bit light at the bass end, though you can often get round that by putting them in a blender loop, or just boosting the bass afterwards, e.g. with your amp controls.

I've found with most pedals with a decent paint job, you can peel velcro off without leaving anything too nasty. Not so easy with boss or DOD pedals that have a rubber base. Still, johnny shredfreak have an alternative idea which may be worth it if building your own board...
